Good information. I wonder how restrained I would be in a similar situation. The use of deadly force is serious business with life long consequences. Still, we have all seen how messed up juries can be.
“Better judged by twelve then carried by six” doesn’t carry the same water it used to.
I have no intention of getting the Reginald Denny treatment. I’ll do what’s required to avoid that.
I was told that this happened in the tight streets of NYC back in the day. Young thugs would jump in front of the vehicle in order to stop it. The solution - go slow but don’t stop. Even idiots don’t like being run over.

As appealing as that may be to most folks, both the situation and the law could be against that action. First if there was a mob following you it would not be wise to re-enter the fray. Secondly, backing up may be looked upon by the law like taking an insurance shot into a disabled perp. That is something that is addressed by international law - a no-no.
Recall some years back a marine got into trouble for delivering a head shot into a wounded but still moving taliban fighter during a sweep of a building. And more recently a guy foiled a robbery at a restaurant, shooting a robber who then collapsed trying to escape. The restaurant patron then walked over to the perp and popped him again this time fatally.
One and done is usually the best policy ... unless of course one shot does not insure your survival. But emptying your clip may but a bit much also. Use good judgement.
In Oklahoma, run them over.
Simple... At that point in time, there would be several victims of vehicular homicide the second an object impacts a window of the vehicle.

I have been in that situation. Even with the doors locked it can be very scary.
In my case, it was a very short event as the police were on the way and in sight, about 1/4 mile away.
It was pretty cool to see everyone hit the ground when they saw laser beams dancing across their chests.
If you certain that you will be killed, do your best to kill as many of them not just for yourself, but also for the next guy.
During the 2020 fascist BLM riots, the county sheriff and prosecutor made it clear that running over violent fascists on the road would be considered lawful self-defense. On day one after two fascists were run over by a truck, BLM melted away and ran back to their ghetto.
This is sad. So, if they are pounding on my vehicle, I just have to take it. Getting out of the only thing protecting you is not an option if this is taking place. That sucks. I wonder if you had people screaming "I'm gonna kill you sucker!" and you recorded it and it survived, would that be reason enough to move your car forward?

If they start damaging your vehicle, “I used deadly force because I was afraid for my family’s or my life”.
