There are ways to intercept calls from specific cell phones. I've done it in the past for fun. A Simple ESN reader with some enhanced functions could do it easily.
This is one type I used to use that had audio intercept functions.

This is one type I used to use that had audio intercept functions. Back in the analog cell phone days of the 1990s I used a Tektronix Spectrum Analyzer to illegally listen in on cell phone calls.
It was worthless once the cell companies switched to GSM and CDMA.

That’s good to know, but I have a feeling electronically intercepting the calls of the President, even if they are calls placed to his illegal cell phone used to bypass records laws, is going to violate quite a few federal laws.
