Normally French presidents do their TV interviews in prime time but Emmanuel Macron chose the mid-day news program for an interview on Wednesday in which he stood resolutely behind the pension reform plan he rammed through without a vote by legislators.

In addition Macron pointed to the protests in the streets saying that union grievances should be listened to an responded to but that there are others militant and extreme.

He said those kind of people protesting in the streets are like those who entered the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 or Brazilian government buildings on January 8th of this year.

Left-wing political leaders and union leaders said that Macron's comments guaranteed massive turnout for Thursday's protest and were a form of "incitement" of demonstrators.

A huge turnout Thursday union organizers say 3.5 million nationwide and 800,000 in Paris...

On Friday Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin stressing 400 plus arrests and 400 plus injuries to police...

...workers have a liberal ability to strike in France while the government enjoys a liberal ability to force workers back to work in critical sectors like energy.

On Friday police knocked on the doors of six workers at an oil refinery in Donges to "requisition" them to keep the refinery in operation.

In the Alpes Maritime region of southeastern France on Friday 15 percent of service stations had no fuel with 25 percent of the region's gasoline stations partially out of fuel.

Rail service is fragmented and sporadic right now in France some days half or more of normally scheduled trains are not operating...

In Paris today a larger crowd than usual for these weekly Paris protests...

Mainstream media focus today on an environmentalist protest where thousands of police are on hand and injuries are reported.

And I will ask yet again (as I have been asking for a few years now in various formats and on multiple platforms): What is this Yellow Vest thing REALLY about? I have been told directly-contradictory ideologies...

It began with Emmanuel Macron jacking up fuel and gasoline taxes using “climate” as a rationale in the fall of 2018.

This brought massive crowds out onto the streets the Right not liking the “Green Tax” and the Left not liking the “tax on the poor” that energy-fuel taxes represent.

A big mistake by Macron but there were incidents with anarchists and COVID to drive down the protest crowd numbers.

Macron also reversed course completely on the taxes even subsidized fuel prices some in recent inflationary times.

Now with this pension reform Macron touching nerves again around 70 percent don’t agree with him according to the opinion polls.

In France, if you work more to get more money, you are penalized with extremely high taxes. As a consequence, the French prefer to be paid with more PTO, whether vacations of earlier retirement.

So to them what Macron is doing amounts to wage theft, forcing them to work longer without additional compensation.

In addition, he could not get the pension reforms passed by the French parliament. Instead, he employed a seldom used provision of the French constitution to impose the reforms by decree. It allows the parliament to repeal the decree, but only by a supermajority, which it failed to do.

Until recently there was a provision in the French Constitution that allowed the President to order the summary execution of anyone for raison d'etat. It was never used, but had been there since De Gaulle. And the EU complains about Hungary and Poland not having "democratic values."

Just because the Yellow Vests want to overthrow the French government DOES NOT make them nearly as dangerous as the Jan 6th tourists, who enjoyed their walk though the Capitol Building.

It is SICKENING to see that analogy invoked.

And that’s the deal - as different events have unfolded - whether concessions or simple changes in the target of protests- its been all over the map... and have read multiple statements regarding hard-core socialists at the core... and even that the yellow vests were the French version of ANTIFA... don’t really know who to belive, though Marcon is an imbecile...

It began with Emmanuel Macron jacking up fuel and gasoline taxes using “climate” as a rationale in the fall of 2018.

It's also the imposition of thousands of speeding cameras and use of the traffic police imposing heavy fines as a source of revenue.

In addition, the EU mandated budgetary restraint has meant that the central government in France (and Germany) no longer pays for almost all of the costs of local schools, hospitals, etc. As a consequence, the French and Germans are now experiencing the "joy" of American-style property taxes as well.

It's the same story in the whole Western world: the elite insulate themselves from the costs of their own lunatic policies (like France's pause on nuclear power because it wasn't "green", the destruction of US oil and gas production, etc.) while forcing everyone else to work for lower wages and pay more in taxes.

Well, since the Ashli Babbitt day murder and alleged riot was orchestrated and committed by the feds, Macron might want to drink an extra bottle of wine with that lie. Better make it a good one.

The French versions of Social Security are not sustainable in their current forms too.

Macron has math on his side, but his bypass of the legislature makes the ordinary French people quite angry.

The J6 call out is a threat of government entrapment, followed by deprivation of rights and endless imprisonment without charges nor trial.
