I’m still trying to figure out what DOE was doing investigating a health issue.

Because they have the some of the highest of high-tech labs in the world with clean rooms and equipment designed to work with things on a nuclear scale.

Well, I know that. But how can the agency just run off on an investigation outside their purview? Or would someone outside have to get them involved?

Say... (and this is pure speculation), Jake Sullivan wants to hang this on the Chinese, and figures the medical people won't give him the straight poop, so he calls up somebody high up in the DOE?

Plus even with the tech capability, you’d have to have a virologist with pretty good chops to evaluate the lab generated information.
