How many large rental companies supported demonrats because they wanted the section 8 rental?
Yeah, how’s that working for ya?
Another Hussein “Death by a thousand cuts” move.
Wasn’t it Pressley and Tlaib that were at the front of the pack for folks not having to pay rent?
All the while they owned Section 8 properties and didn’t miss a rent check?
Wonder how Blackrock is going to like these coming rent control laws? It has at least 3 guys pulling strings in this administration wonder if they’ll be getting a nice, quiet carve out.
This is aimed at the mom and pop rental, with a couple of duplexes or maybe a small apartment building. Those owners don’t contribute to politicicians, but mostly do vote Republican. But they are competition for the big owners who do fund the Democrat party.
So this is a twofer for the Dems. They get to hurt their enemies, and help their friends.
This is about forcing the mom and pop landlords to sell out to the institutional investors like Blackrock.
Once they squeeze them out, they’ll change the rules back the other way.
Ping
do they want rentals converted to condos or sold? because this is how you get that done.
FJB. Then, FJB again.
Good point.
No, it’s just bringing it back, because it worked so well the first time around.

I can see what’s going to happen next.
Because I wouldn’t want to be a landlord even though I once thought I might.
And I’ll bet you thousands, maybe tens of thousands of small business landlords are going to sell their buildings. It’s just not worth it.
The outcome of all this will be far, far fewer rentals for a larger group of people seeking places to live.
What a cluster!
This doesn’t help, but rather hurts EVERYONE across the board, from tenants, to landlords, to insurance companies and employers looking for workers who can’t afford to live near them.
The Left never thinks about the unintending consequences of their do-gooding.
“The Left never thinks about the unintending consequences of their do-gooding.”
Your normalcy bias is showing.
Do-gooding has nothing to do with what the modern left does.
The bad consequences, the chaos, the destruction— they are all intended.
RE: And I’ll bet you thousands, maybe tens of thousands of small business landlords are going to sell their buildings.
Errrr... knowing that such a moratorium would exist ( if it does ), who will want to buy? These buildings will be worth less than what they were purchased, much less.
RE: The outcome of all this will be far, far fewer rentals for a larger group of people seeking places to live.
Ahhh, now we’re seeing the method to the madness. Here’s where the government comes in and purchases the building and outright OWNS them, tens of thousands of them.

OK, Student Loan forgiveness did not pass. This is an even bigger deal.
