Barbara Billingsley did better, IMO.
She was great. We just watched a couple of Dick van Dyke episodes
It was a shame she pushed for using fetal stem cells. She used her diabetes I swayed her into advocating for using babies for killing for medical advancement
For the last few decades of Mary’s life, it appeared to me that she always looked glum or very sad. I later discovered that it probably had much to do with events of 1980. I. 1980, Mary’s only child, a young man in his 30s, did away with himself.
After that, Mary became more involved in Social Causes.
She had all the money she needed, and to some degree her health, but she needed to find ways to fill her time.
Mary lived on after that terrible loss.
but she probably wasn’t good enough to vote....
Definitely had a crush on young MTM in the reruns of “The Dick Van Dyke” show. She had it going on in a Donna Reed-kinda way, but also with a charming sense of humor.
I always enjoyed her in DVD and MTM shows. She was good.
MTM in capri pants.. oh my!!
I grew up in NYC and have a good story about MTM. Me and mom drove into Manhattan one day to meet my brother and she was driving and was trying to back into a parking spot on the upper west side after driving around forever looking for a spot, so my mom was not in a good mood. So she was trying to back into this spot only some lady was standing it in and wouldn’t move. So my mom being the hard ass she was screamed out “Do you mind moving your effin a*s or what?! I’m trying to park!” and the lady started laughing and got back on the sidewalk. So she finally parked and who was the lady? Mary Tyler Moore! OOPS! lol lol lol
Part way through Ordinary People, I realized I was hating her character. It felt like the food chain had reversed direction. Mary playing someone despicable was a shock to my system. She deserved an Oscar for it.
Will forever be remembered, fondly, for standing up publicly for her Confederate ancestor.
Just a foible or is there somethin else?
I'm curious.. d:^)
