If McCarthy is serious on cutting back financial and military aid Ukraine may run out of hardware long before Putin runs out of his and as for the Russian East. Those inhabitants of the Russian Eastern states are not unaware of present Chinese authoritarianism and of China’s millenial long sense of racial superiority toward their Mongol and Manchu and Siberian neighbors. I doubt they will be eager to enter the domain of the CCP

McCarthy has clarified that his “no more blank check” comment referred to demanding accounting for the use of the funds, but that he was committed to continuing support for the Ukrainian war effort.
