Amazing! In one day I lost 10% of my retirement portfolio. One freaking day! I went from retiring in 2 weeks to retiring at 65, then 67, then 70 and now I cannot retire.

I told the wife that in April I can begin teaching as an adjunct, take whatever SS is available at 62, my VA disability and cash out whatever I have left in retirement and we can move to Costa Rica and live like royalty as ex-pats in a beachfront home.

With her business down the drain, chances of her earning what she did previously did are practically nil. She would be better off stocking shelves at CVS.

Her answer? No. I really should just sign over my 401k to her and go on my own, but after 33 years of wedded bliss, I cannot bring myself to do it. I mean seriously, why would I want to go alone to a beach in Costa Rica, hook up with a 35 year old sexy Costa Rican woman and enjoy the remaining years of my life fishing every morning, cooking fresh foods, lots of sunshine and whatever the chica adds to my life?

Cartman says Costa Rica “smells like ass,” and says the country is filled with prostitutes.

So, you’ll have that going for you.

What a day!

Devastating anyone and everyone invested including me.

I have had two jobs for 20 plus years with retirement benefits either pension or 401K enabling me to work part time now.

I don’t rely on Social Security but can opt in down the road at 70.

That will help me if it’s still around.

The situation stinks.
