This is absolutely despicable.
Hertz has had a huge number of its law abiding, paying customers arrested on bogus charges of car theft.
Hertz has been doing this, repeatedly, for many years.
Some of Hertz’s law abiding customers were held in prison for days at a time. Some of them have been arrested and jailed multiple times, despite not having broken any laws.
One law abiding customer, who was pregnant, lost her baby because of the stress from this. And this wasn’t her first false arrest by Hertz. Or her second. Or her third. It was during the fourth arrest of this law abiding woman, by Hertz, that she had a miscarriage. Between all of those arrests, this innocent, paying customer had spent a total of approximately one month in jail.
Hundreds of law abiding, paying customers are suing Hertz for falsely arresting them.
Children have been traumatized from watching their innocent parents get arrested by armed police officers.
Many of these law abiding, paying customers lost their jobs because of Hertz’s false accusations.
Hertz CEO Stephen Scherr deserves to be in jail for the rest of his life.
You can read about it here: https://www.yahoo.com/news/woman-suing-hertz-being-accused-125513944.html
So, why did the pregnant woman keep going back to Hertz?
Let Hertz put you in the electric chair…
yahoo articles are typically full of left-slanted opinions.
So I tend to avoid even clicking over to them.
Scherr just started in March 2022. If you toss new CEOs in the clink for malpractices that have been going on for years, you’ll probably have a hard time filling the positions.
What are the charges? And why not go with Avis? When you’re number two, you try harder.
No matter how big your customer base is, you’ll run out of them if you mistreat them.
Good question.
What a Dick.

I don’t follow. What did he do?
It was all from the same incident.
Hertz is, to be polite about it, not exactly scrupulous with their record keeping.
So you have people arrested for stealing a car that they have rented during the time they rented it for. You have people arrested for stealing cars they turned in and have a receipt for doing so.
You have people who's vehicle's are towed with their stuff still in it from hotel parking lots while their lease is still on-going.
Hertz is a mess.
And they have the attitude that it is always the customer who is wrong.
They arrested her for the same car rental multiple times.

This guy will clarify the stupidity of Hertz reporting cars stolen because THEY screw up the paperwork and list them as not returned. They have done this many many times, sometimes multiple times to the same customer for the same rental.
The customers get warrants sworn out for them for auto theft.
Check out the lawyers take at this link: https://youtu.be/tc5gmoWA6cg
Well I have no idea because the writer never got around to mentioning why.
Whoa!!
The first time it happened would have been the last and my lawyer would have seen to that.
As freeper E. Pluribus Unum posted: “They arrested her for the same car rental multiple times.”
Could have been for the same alleged offense?
