Details of What FBI Seized at Mar-a-Lago Make the FBI Raid Look Downright Scandalous

We are starting to get more details on what occurred during the FBI’s nearly 10-hour raid of Donald Trump’s home in Florida, though, it’s not the government that’s providing them. On Tuesday evening, Trump’s lawyer revealed that authorities didn’t even want to present a warrant, and when they finally did, the warrant had the probable cause sealed.

As to what was seized, the list is illuminating, and not in a good way for the FBI’s conduct. According to a report from The Washington Post, citing information leaked to them by the government (which says a lot on its own), the boxes taken were full of what would mostly be considered personal effects and mundane presidential records.

An unprecedented FBI raid for cocktail napkins and birthday dinner menus.

There were rumors many months ago that this is all that the National Archives was after. Not really important things related to national security or some such, which even still wouldn’t justify the raid, but scribblings on napkins and letters from heads of state. If this report is correct, that’s what the FBI carried out an unprecedented raid on a president for. 33,000 stolen emails put on an illegal server weren’t enough to raid Hillary Clinton, but the National Archives wanting a letter from Kim Jung Un was. The abuse of power is off the charts.

But is that all the FBI was actually after? Color me skeptical given how corrupt that agency and politically weaponized the bureau is. Sure, the collection of those records may have been the convenient pretext they needed, and the only one they could legally acquire, in order to search Trump’s home. But you can bet that while they were there riffling through the entire premises for nearly half a day, they were searching for other things that could bolster the other pursuits against Trump. The FBI just needed to get into the door and they could do whatever they want.

Which only underscores how out of bounds the entire raid was. The justification is so paper-thin that it’s only logical to assume the FBI had other motives, and given the DOJ’s obvious coordination with the January 6th committee, wouldn’t that seem likely?

This is not how the Presidential Records Act has ever been enforced. Even if the FBI felt it had probable cause to seize the materials it took, all it would have taken was a phone call and a few plain-clothed agents. Instead, the government chose to send rifle-wielding agents in full body armor to raid the premises of a former president, ostensibly for some dinner napkins.

That’s objectively insane, and anyone still defending this raid or claiming we just need an “explanation” is exposing their own hypocritical tolerance for blatant political targeting by the government.

What, again, was in those millions of pages of records that Obama trucked off with after his presidency?

That coup started the day Trump took the oath of office.

“That coup started the day Trump took the oath of office.”

Actually, it started the day Trump came down the escalader.

make them look like a bunch of souvenir-hunting perverts.

That’s what they are. They were looking for Melania’s used panties. I heard they didn’t inventory anything, so Melania should say, they stole 25 pairs of my panties, from my hamper, and 25 bras, and defy them to prove her wrong. Then she can call them a bunch of sexual perverts. Make them look like the pieces of 💩💩💩 that they are.

I wonder if Pres. Trump has really good cyber-sleuths that can remove the bugs planted by the FIB?

I suspect the FIRST thing they will do, is sweep the place for bugs.

So we have 30 pulling guards armed with enough weaponry to defend Benghazi for 20 years going to Trumps residence to gather information. Turns into a panty raid and shoe buying expedition along with items to be sold on eBay. The DNA of some agencies never change. J Edgar is smiling in his grave these are my boys.

Chances are the majority of these items had the “Trump” logo and the pillagers wanted a souvenir.

You are so right. As a practicing tax lawyer I had a client under audit by the IRS. When they agent showed up, I presented the 14 inch thick tax return as he requested. (I’ve never had it satisfactorily explained why we have to provide a copy that resides on their Cray supercomputer). Anyway, when the agent saw the thickness of the return, he asked If it was his copy. I told him no, that he could read and take notes for as long as it took. He told me to make him a copy. I asked where in that little book of statutes a copy is required since it had been filed timely. He said that I could make a copy and charge it to my client. I told him that I wouldn’t do that as it would be committing fraud on my client. He sugested I take it to Kinkos (when they still existed) to get a cheap copy. I asked for his credit card to do so. He refused and said I could put it on my client’s bill. I suggested that he read and take notes. I let him know that just because he had a “commission” does not mean that I must expend any sum or effort to assist him.

I’m sitting here thinking about the whole thing and a thought occurred to me.

I think Christopher Wray is losing it...i.e. he is acting a little NUTS:

He appears before a Senate committee and claims he must leave at 1:30. We find out he is going to his vacation home! THAT takes balls or insanity to know we will find out and it makes him look “goofy.”

Then, he arranges for this RAID, doesn’t come out and give us an explanation...which is weird. When he sees that the “RAID” BACKFIRES bigly, he issues a statement claiming we are making huge threats...and proceeds to THREATEN US.

Maybe that’s not enough to declare him insane, but it appears to me that he is carrying a lot of GUILT and now I will bet, he will be LAYING LOW FOR SOME TIME.

“I think the cocktail napkin etc was from earlier this year, as the image shows. Red State got this wrong.‘

I noticed that as well. It’s a sad state of journalism these days.

You need to proof your post before you hit “post.” Your post is nearly unintelligible.

Astute observation on Christopher Wray. The guy has to be prosecuted . This is never happened in American history never. If you run for president you better have dual citizenship. One country should be where you cannot get extradited back to the US. Because you don’t know what potential crimes will be thought up against you and you will have to pay for.

That’s not insanity. It’s spectacular arrogance and disrespect, and it’s malignant narcissism.

That was my point exactly. The DNA of some organizations never change. Boys will be boys and sometimes boys will be girls. FBI so queer.

The author conveniently leaves out the fact that there is another list of classified items taken. From the same article:

”There is a separate inventory for just the classified materials that were taken to the former president’s Florida residence, this person said.”
