Vanity: Judge Who Signed Trump Warrant Tied to Epstein Scandal

Sealed search warrant here signed by Bruce E Reinhart, magistrate judge for the Southern District of Florida

https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/64872441/united-states-v-sealed-search-warrant/

On Oct 23, 2007, as federal prosecutors in South Florida were in the midst of tense negotiations to finalize a plea deal with accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, a senior prosecutor in their office was quietly laying out plans to leave the U.S. attorney’s office after 11 years. On that date, as emails were flying between Epstein’s lawyers and federal prosecutors, Bruce E. Reinhart, now a federal magistrate, opened a limited liability company in Florida that established what would become his new criminal defense practice. The stated address, according to Florida state corporate records: 250 South Australian Ave., Suite 1400. It was the same location, and identical suite number, as that of Epstein’s lead attorney, Jack Goldberger. By the end of the year, Reinhart had resigned his post in the Southern District of Florida. Within days, on Jan. 2, 2008, he was hired to represent several of Epstein’s accused accomplices who would later, like Epstein, receive federal immunity for allegedly trafficking underage girls. Reinhart’s defection was one of many highly unusual turns that the Epstein case took 12 years ago, moves that could merit examination as the multimillionaire’s controversial non-prosecution agreement is dissected in the wake of his arrest last week on sex trafficking charges.

Not a single one of Ghislaine Maxwell’s child sex-trafficking clients has been named. The FBI yawned when young girls told them Larry Nassar was raping them. We all know where the American Stasi’s priorities are.

Wait, I'm confused. If Reinhart resigned his judgeship in 2007, how did he sign the Trump search warrant in 2022?

I understood it to say he resigned from the US Attorney’s office in 2008. He subsequently became a Federal magistrate.

Bruce Reinhart was sworn in as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Florida on March 14, 2018. Prior to taking the bench, he was in private practice for 10 years, both as a solo practitioner and as the co-chair of the white collar crime practice group of a national firm. His practice focused on white collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation. From 1996-2008, he was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in West Palm Beach. From 1988-1996, he was a Trial Attorney in the Public Integrity Section of the U.S. Department of Justice., having entered the Department as part of the Attorney General’s Honors Program. He began his legal career as the law clerk to the Honorable Norma L. Shapiro on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Judge Reinhart earned a degree in civil engineering cum laude from Princeton University in 1984 and a J.D. cum laude in 1987 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Interesting, works at the direction of the District Judge and is appointed by election by a board of judges.

If you would avoid a conflict of interest, don’t have one, this guy does. Most people do. The only ones I begin to trust are the ones who raise their hands and proclaim their conflict of interest.

A district magistrate judge seems a pretty minor functionary to be issuing search warrants against a former President in his home. This has added yet another layer of stink.

Anybody can wikipedia or whatever but here is the starter about magistrate judges. I would not call them insignificant or that this action is outside their wheel house but I would say a search warrant against a former President is outside his pay grade. A normal thinking person would not do something like this without orders from above. The line of command suggests that he only issues this kind of order at the direction of the district judge he serves.

Who might that be?

The whole mess is compromised but it is all so legal. Right?

What is party?

Here's how you determine the party of a federal US magistrate judge:

He or she is selected by a vote of the judges of the district at the time. The chief judge has the most say in the selection.

So, let's see who was chief judge United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida on March 13, 2018.

The chief stooge of SD Florida was Kevin Michael Moore [chief from 2014–2021], appointed by G.H.W. Bush [Grabby Poppy, the Deep State's Stooge of Stooges].

Most of the SD Florida stooge-judges that would have voted for him were Clinton-Obama stooges, with a mixture of Smirking Chimp stooges.

Good point, here.

The current chief stooge of SD Florida is Cecilia Altonaga, appointed by GOPee G.W. Bush [The Smirking Chimp, and Head Assistant Democrat].

Just add to the “interesting” is that magistrate judge bruce still has his shingle out as a criminal defense attorney. I didn’t know that you can do that and still be a federal magistrate judge.

Maybe you can but I don’t think you should.

I guess they rotate the chieftianship since Moore is still a judge but some woman is now chief judge.

Remember Ernst Janning in “Judgement at Nuremberg”? The real person portrayed by Burt Lancaster was Oswald Rothaug. We have a bunch of them in the courts sitting as judges lording over all of us.

The Epstein affair has very deep roots in the swamp. Amazing isn’t it how so many nefariously connected people can be so wide spread in gooberment.

Yes, a seven-year rotation, and you're not supposed to be chief judge after 70 years old.

Also determined by seniority in the district.

US Magistrate Judges are *not* Article III judges.

Not appointed by the POTUS.

Not confirmed by the Senate.

They sign virtually all federal warrants.

How does a USMJ not kick an application for a search warrant on a *former POTUS* upstairs to a real judge? 😒

Ah, that makes sense.

Leaves US Attorney's office for the Southern District of Florida, immediately represents clients associated with Epstein being prosecuted by the US Attorney's office for the Souther District of Florida, then becomes a Federal Magistrate for the Southern District of Florida.

Nothing to see here...
