The funny part is that the useful tools think they will be invited to join the Beautiful People to live in their shinning utopian city after they kill off all the little people or enslave whatever remain and relegate them to the grubby side of the river.

“Active investor in Vanguard mutual funds.
Have done very well by them.”
Cause it is only about you right? The me, my, mine is why we have lost this country. Get ready... Because your false sense of advantage is temporary.
Agreed. The power behind the power.
“Let me issue and control a nation’s money and I care not who writes the laws.”
“The few who understand the system, will either be so interested from it’s profits or so dependent on it’s favors, that there will be no opposition from that class.”

How will starving people across the globe and/or booting them out of their homes improve their Bottom Line?
That’s what we need to look at before we panic. ;)
“You will own nothing and be happy.”.......................

Come at me, Bro! I’m so diversified you wouldn’t believe it.
Is that ‘selfish’ in your world? Or am I just smarter than your average bear?
I can guarantee you’d find offense at some of the ‘investments’ I’ve held through the years that made me cash money and/or offered tax incentives. And yet, here I am. I retired at age 56, debt free and I lack for nothing.
And others schlubbs just like me have done even better. When does not being a burden on society in ones Golden Years become selfish? Is there a dollar amount? Please enlighten us. :)
Dayummm girl.
That’s tellin’ him.
I don’t understand why people look for things to panic about.
Don’t get the drama.
Ford built and owned my truck before I purchased it.
Now if Ford wanted to suppress me and refuse to sell me the truck, that would only hurt Ford.
They’ve done very well by you.
Grow your own folks!
“You will eat the crispy bugs, and be happy”.
I just got a SWEET deal on a Ford F150 extended cab truck. Bought it through a private sale after looking for the past two YEARS to find something suitable for us. It had to be big enough for Beau (6’4”) to be comfortable and since I’m five-foot-nothing, had to be easy for me to drive, too.
Prior to that, I drove a Ford Escape (which I just LOVED!) since 2010. Gave it to a local family who was in need; they’ll get a few more years out of her, though the body is really starting to rust - but that’s a Wisconsin car for ya, no matter what the make or model. ;)
I like the way you think. There will always be a way around this. Just need to put the work in, trouble is we have too many grasshoppers not enough 🐜
I was not even commenting to you...
But to you I say... I also self retired myself many years ago now, I have never accepted one dime of outside help in my life, and I did it without aiding and abetting the evil of one single communist corporation or product. In fact throughout my whole business career I refused to even do business with them no matter how much they offered. My God is not green.
Their money is evil and no good to me. I will not aid and abet criminals. There is a huge question of morality there.

Oh please. There's no false sense of advantage. ANYONE can invest in Vanguard mutual funds including in a 401(k), IRA, SEP, etc.
This article is hyperbole topped with doom. Look at the article title:
"BlackRock and Vanguard Are Nearly in TOTAL CONTROL of Food Production and Distribution in America"
with "Nearly in TOTAL CONTROL" morphing into "largely owned by" in the body of the article.
But are they? Let's take a look at a few of the top institutional holders:
Nestle - The Vanguard Group, Inc. - stake in shares is 0.08% 6th largest
PepsiCo - The Vanguard Group, Inc. - stake in shares is 8.73% 1st largest, Blackrock Inc. 7.51% 2nd largest
General Mills - The Vanguard Group, Inc. - stake in shares is 8.42% 1st largest, Blackrock Inc. 7.54% 2nd largest
Kellogs - The Vanguard Group, Inc. - stake in shares is 8.44% 2nd largest, Blackrock Inc. 7.58% 3rd largest
Unilever - Blackrock Inc. - stake in shares 0.79% 1st largest
Coca Cola - The Vanguard Group, Inc. - stake in shares is 7.90 % 2nd largest, Blackrock Inc. 6.45% 3rd largest
Mars - It is PRIVATELY OWNED by the Mars Family.
So, the claim "The world’s top 10 food companies are also largely owned by both BlackRock and Vanguard" is false and ignorant of the facts.
Good grief, what the hell has happened to FReepers?
Re: 28 - Yes, Vanguard has been a good mutual fund company. Some stinkers here and there, but overall very solid.
Your claims. Not everyone has come to that conclusion. Accept it.
