Oh you’ve got me wrong but that’s ok.
There is nothing wrong with lovely tunes that are not indecent or vulgar. I’ll suggest Reminiscing by The Little River Band, anything by Rodney Crowell, Winwood or Clapton, to barely scratch the surface of alternatives to How Much Is That Doggy In The Window. Arf arf.
Cheers!!
I get you. It’s just I like to stand up for “corny” stuff. And you did say it was *mostly* “corny”!
I like some low-class lyrics. But that’s usually because I like the tune so much as to ignore the lyrics!

I can’t believe there are still 2 Bobby Darins in the tournament.

Miss America type pageants never had that problem, you just list ‘em and then vote - top vote-getter is Number 1. Even the Oscars people figured out how to do that.

I stand by my statement! Never mind how difficult these can be to set up, period. Even with a survey site it’s still a bit involved on the front end.

ROUND 5 RESULTS(in order of points/vote)
format: poll seed - year - Billboard rank – Piece – Act
1 1950 2 “Mona Lisa” Nat King Cole
4 1957 3 “Little Darlin’” The Diamonds
2 1958 2 “All I Have to Do Is Dream”/”Claudette” The Everly Brothers
3 1955 2 “Rock Around the Clock” Bill Haley & His Comets
Notes:
-52 voters! The biggest so far!
-”Little Darlin’” squeeked by over “Dream Lover” (my slight preference)! And “Mack the Knife” lost out to the Everly Bros’ duel entry only slightly (and I’m grateful for that!)
-”Rock Around the Clock” was the biggest run-away, easily over “Sh-Boom”.
On to Round 6!
Funny that. I absolutely love Mona Lisa, but LOATHE Sh-Boom.
