Please pray for my 90 year old Mother who was hospitalized from COVID. She's very healthy but since we brought her in for low oxygen levels (84%) she's started to decline. She's quarantined and we're only able to reach her via cell. Doctors put her on Remdisivir and dexamethasone which appears to be the standard FDA script. Hospital staff seem only marginally helpful.
At this point the whole family feels like we're on thin ice; i.e., don't upset the hospital staff with questions / recommendations because we have no access to our Mother. Please pray that the Lord will give the staff the heart and wisdom to properly treat her correctly, that He will give us wisdom for next steps and that the Lord will answer our prayers for her to be cured.
Prayers...on a Vent??? Remdesivir? Not good. Are they giving her infusions of Vit C and D3? Quercitin & Zinc?
I cant tell you what I would do in your shoes but I like to think at a minimum I would say to the staff... I want some milk for my mom and oh by the way..can she have some benadryl.
This is based on studies about Lactoferrin and Benadryl...and anecdotal evidence from people trying milk with Benadryl...you dont have to tell them the real reason why.
I’ll pray for your mother and your family. We just went thru that nightmare scenario with my 73 yo BIL. He was on a ventilator for 2 weeks and died January 6th, alone AFAIK. This shouldn’t be happening.
Prayers for your mother, but Remdesivir will kill her.
It would be so inappropriate to advise or say what I would do in that situation.

if anyone catches COVID give this a try while you are still at home. Can’t hurt unless you have some allergy to the products etc. Use common sense
My advice is to see if she can be released into hospice, so that she can have a visitor. We went through this exact same thing with my oldest brother, and we were isolated from him and he was from us. It was heartbreaking that he had to die all alone, save the nurse on duty that day, who was a perfect stranger to him. This was in August during the big Delta in Florida.

Not on a ventilator. No infusions that we’re aware of.

It sounds like you know that God is the ultimate healer and your mother certainly has my prayers to God that through Christ your mother is in fact healed and soon brought home to be with her loved ones. And I pray that you are comforted by God in this time of need and you have the wisdom and patience to deal with any advice and decisions you have to make and you do so all in your mom’s best interest.
Does she have any disabilities? If so, view this. She needs an advocate with her.

Also...see if you can get her transferred to hospice.
Pull her out on home hospice care. Tgat opens up a world of options and access you won’t get in a hospital.

I will keep her in my prayers.
First. Don’t every worry about upsetting the hospital staff when advocating for your mom.
Second. If the hospital has a patient advocate make use of him or her to make sure the care plan is coordinated as she is probably being seen by multiple doctors of different specialties.
Third. Be sure all legal docs related to her care such as medical power of attorney are current and readily available.
This is very important especially if her mental abilities decline.
Fourth. Don’t be afraid to let the hospital know you are willing to take legal action to make sure her wishes are adhered to. If she did not have a DNR don’t let them put one in her chart. I read this has happened to others.
Fifth. Ask for an independent consult for her. This is where legal action may be needed. Because I hate to tell you this but her current care plan may make things worse.
NEVER BE INTIMIDATED BY WHITE COATED MUTTON HEADS. Fight for your mom.
