Just a functional prototype for now. Even the airless tires are 3D printed!

There are some very, very strong carbon fiber nylon filiments you could use to print this with that have more effective strength than aluminum.

I’ll take 5, so I can go for a ride.

All day long!

Must be a mid-west bike. The tires are squared off.

It would come apart in Arizona in the summertime. What is formed by heat is melted by heat. I don’t know of any thermosetting 3D filament.

Most eng type plastics have melt temps of 250-300 C. Arizona doesn’t get that hot.

Notice the nylon and asa parts in the typical car engine compartment are not piles of melted goo in the summertime.

Arizona doesn’t get that hot.

Temperatures is enclosed spaces can indeed get up 200C when exposed to direct sunlight. If you lick your finger and then quickly touch a metal object you will get the "frying pan sizzle" and some steam. There will be no water left on the surface.

That does reach the softening point of 3D parts.

So explain why all the plastic parts in an engine compartment are not melted goo? There are 3d filaments such as PEEK that have melt temps of 360-400 C. Those are not melting. You must be thinking that all 3d printing is PLA.

Nylon does have a higher meting temperature than typical 3D filaments.

Like I said, if it were a problem, all the existing platic boxes and parts and connectors in your engine compartment would be melted goo, and obviously that didn’t happen while u were cookie baking.
