‘Die Hard’ Star Declares Film a ‘Christmas Cult Classic’

De’voreaux White, who played Argyle, John McClane’s limo driver, recently wrote a piece for Newsweek about his time on the Bruce Willis classic and how he landed the gig. About halfway into the column, White lays the Christmas debate bare.

“Die Hard is one of the original action-packed movies, however, it’s also a Christmas cult classic,” he wrote. “That’s what it is; Argyle said so!”

White joins a growing list of people that worked on Die Hard that say it’s a Christmas movie. That includes the movie’s writer and director. ..."

The article lays out it’s case. For me, it takes place at Christmas (before, at a party) so it’s a Christmas movie.

Most Christmas movies have nothing to do with Christmas. Look at Home Alone. It could have been set over spring break, Memorial Day, or the 4th of July with just a few minor tweaks to the script.

Alan Rickman unavailable for comment . . .

. . . and of course, who cares. Just another pathetic media move to attempt to draw attention to itself and away from Brandon.

Bruce Willis was asked to leave an LA Rite Aid earlier this year when he wasn’t wearing a mask. He subsequently apologized calling it an “error in judgment”.
