Only treatments that put money in their pockets are allowed.

The object of Pharm companies is to get every single person in the world on some kind of “life saving” med.

I saw another post somewhere that said... “How much you want to bet that it contains the same or similar items that are in Ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine?”
True.

"All of the previously authorized drugs against the disease require an IV or an injection." "All other AUTHORIZED drugs," but NOT all other drugs that work.
I'm going to guess that they won't put it on the market until they have reached a certain rate/number of vaccinations.

The object of Pharm companies is to get every single person in the world on some kind of “life saving” med.Been saying this very thing for decades now. Big Pharma doesn't want to cure anything -- that makes them no money. They want to TREAT diseases, for the rest of your life if possible. The AP all but admitted this -- not intentionally, IMHO -- in a recent article about how Big Pharma has finally learned how to make money on vaccines.

This drug has been in Pfizer's inventory for years and was used as a treatment for the feline disease, Feline Infectious Peritonitis. As I said from the start, the folly in the way the Wuhan Virus has been handled is a) environmental and quarantine measures were haphazard at best b) focus on vaccines that in experience against the Coronaviradae are useless within two years because of the propensity of the virus to mutate c) ignore therapeutics that are marginally to beneficially effective against the virus d) vaccinating all instead of limiting the vaccine to those significantly at risk..vaccinating all during an epidemic creates the ability for a virus to create mutants that evade the vaccine's positive immunological benefits.
I've said it over and over again, a second year veterinary student could have handled this epidemic better than Fauci et al.

Wait a minute. Was it the purpose, supposedly, oh Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates because there were no other treatment options? None of the FDA has approved a treatment and it seems like another one is in the work shortly, this destroys their need/justification for vaccine mandates.

It does not. It is a targeted therapeutic. It is like tamiflu which it to say targeted at this virus unlike other meds like ivermectin and HCQ which are for other conditions that showed some weak anti Covid properties.
This is the proper next step. So between monoclonals and now orals with the emergence of omicron which is not nearly as severe as previous strains and more transmissible the laws of epidemiology are combining with targeted therapies and vaccination to form all three legs of how to end a pandemic.
Those opposed to the vaccine seem to shoot themselves into he foot by also being against specific therapeutics. I guess there are those who simply do not want to advance anything.
Thanks to PDJT for the vaccine and operation warp speed which has also allowed for a pathway to the rapid development of decent and targeted treatments.

This is welcome news, now tthat monoclonol antibody treatments are failing against Omricon.
But how available will it be in the next 3-8 weeks when it will be needed most?

The oral drug, Paxlovid, is a faster, cheaper way to treat early COVID-19 ... but nowhere near as effective as ivermectin... .likely
