Looks like another strike against the Hazara community.
When the Taliban (who were overwhelmingly ethnic Pashtuns) first took over Afghanistan, they had a saying about the other ethnic groups: Tajiks to Tajikistan, Uzbeks to Uzbekistan, and Hazara to Ghoristan (the graveyard).
Hazara (descendants of the Mongols) have for centuries been a persecuted ethnic minority there, but additionally are mostly Shi’ite, which is about the worst thing to be (heretics), in the eyes of the modern Sunni jihadis, like al Queda, ISIS and the Taliban. So they are going to get it hard under the Taliban, and have been already.
The third strike against the Hazara for the Taliban, is that they have been Westernizing faster than the rest of the population - the highest percentages of converts to Christianity, women getting educated, etc..
As a group, they benefitted the most during the Pax Americana, and are likely going to bear the worst of Taliban oppression, which includes of course, a lot of killing.
