My SIN Is JUDGMENT
Old School ^ | 9/6/21 | Patrick Rooney

I visited an old friend over the weekend. We had not talked for far too long a time. He gave me some sound advice–it was about me.

We were discussing someone who was a mutual friend, and who’d wronged me. Even though I knew it was wrong to carry resentment towards my former friend for what he had done, nevertheless, I have been unable to completely shake that resentment.

In a nutshell, my friend told me something I thought I already knew–that even if my former friend was 100% wrong–I AM WRONG FOR CONTINUING TO RESENT HIM FOR IT!

That statement took away my excuses for acting in a childish way while I walk in an adult’s body.

I felt like I had been backed into a corner, and exposed.

And funny, accepting my friend’s statement caused a freeing, and yet something else inside me was not happy about it at all. I sat with that last night until I went to bed.

There is still something inside fighting this truth, but yet in a way, it feels like the lance has already pierced the dragon.

All that’s left now is allowing the truth to settle inside.

My sin is judging.

Sure, I can look back and see where this started. My mother was a judger, and my father–though certainly not a bad man, was someone who–like many in his Great Depression / World War II generation–struggled with internal conflicts routinely drowned with unfiltered cigarettes, alcohol, bad food, and the trivial news of the day.

The judger needs the failure (real or perceived) of the “bad” actor to feed the judgment!

When I’m at the gym, I notice something inside me judging everyone I see–whether it’s the lifters who curse like sailors, or someone who acts “too strong” or “too weak.” It doesn’t matter–they can’t win. The judger needs its food!

Traumas and Judging While talking with my old friend this weekend, we began to explore how myself and others that we know have been hypnotized by hypnotic techniques presented as “meditation.” That hypnotic state leads to judgment–because in this state, we operate out of a type of automated response, instead of reason.

But my traumas–and by extension, my judgment–indeed started long ago. Hating the judger (mother), or hating the “bad actor” (father)–awakened that original trauma / hypnotic condition, which converted me into being a judger.

Trauma / judgment caused me to judge others as either worse or better than me. In those I judged to be somehow “better” than me, it caused me to become a follower, which set me up to be used by people who placed themselves (and whom I placed) in a “leader” position.

The Way Out It’s a tangled web we become part of, but the only way I have found to become freer (with the hope of complete freedom) is to be willing to acknowledge the truth when it presents itself. I still believe in meditation–but today I practice a simple form of stillness that is almost formless, and thus kept close to reality and hard to screw up! I deal with this topic in more depth in THIS POST.

My old friend helped this process along this weekend, and I am eternally grateful.

As I slowly accept responsibility for MY actions, the leader inside is emerging, and the follower fades. This is something I have always wanted, and it is heartening to see it come forward.

It starts with admitting we are wrong for judging others, even if they have done wrong to us. This is not a new concept. It is the basis of Christianity, and many others who don’t consider themselves Christians subscribe to it too.

Letting go of our pride, and asking God to help us do this, is the ticket back to LIFE. I see my life returning. I hope you maintain or regain your life too.

I believe we can glean it through thorough attention to the instruction of the Bible. It is not proud nor hypocritical. It is honest. It is biblical.

“We are to judge believers if they do wrong.”

Are you judge and jury? I ask that not in a critical way but according to Jesus teaching that we are to Love our enemies. Are we judging them unworthy of our Love and not following Jesus’s command? Are we judging them as sinners and unworthy of God’s Love.

Remember the words of Jesus and Steven at the time of their deaths, “Father, Forgive them as they know not what they do.”

That sure doesn’t sound like judgement!

Excellent verses... John is my favorite of the four Gospels.

Read past John 5:22

24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.

28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. 30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

The judgement is merely the Refining Fire that radiates from Jesus. If a soul is not pure enough to exist in that Fire, it is unworthy. That is the judgement.

It is the same Fire that exists in God even brighter. It is the same Fire that is not quite as strong in the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit were as strong as the Fire of Heaven, it would cause people to perish if it came near them.

I’ve already died, left my body and went to Heaven, met Jesus and then went to a higher level of Heaven where I met God. I hate it here on earth and can’t wait to return to Heaven again. The Love is so strong in Heaven that I miss it everyday here on earth for the last 30+ years since I died and returned.

I’m not disagreeing per se, it’s semantics.

Does mother nature judge? No, it provides a reality that if we do not provide adequate protection, it will kill us. So it is with the Love and Light that comes from Jesus.

When a soul is approaching Heaven after death it has a ring of fire that glows. It’s the impurities being burned off so the soul can enter. In many ways it resembles one of those old electric bug zapper lights as I see the fire and smoke as the dense thought such as fear burns off.

I was with a 97 year old woman a few years ago who began crying. I asked her why, and she replied, “I’m afraid I’m going to hell.” She was in the process of dying and knew it, but was filled with fear.

I sat next to her and prayed, asking for the portal to Heaven to open, but it did not open as it had many times previously in similar circumstances. I prayed and prayed, all night I stayed, but no portal. She stopped eating that evening.

The next day the hospice nurse arrived and we both noticed the extreme heat radiating from her body. She had no infection or reason to have a fever. I could see the liquid Light swirling around her, but didn’t realize at the time what was happening. She did not eat for three weeks. The last week she drank no liquids. I continued to pray, but the portal would not open.

Finally after three weeks, the portal opened and she left her body. It was then that I realized that the heat was from the Holy Spirit burning off the fear and cleansing her soul for three weeks so she could cross over into Heaven.

The next morning the family gave me nice clothing to put on her before they removed the body. I figured rigor would have set in and I would need to cut the long sleeve blouse and slacks and lay it over her body, but there was no rigor at all 12 hrs after her death. What a beautiful learning experience.

People fail to realize that we judge things everyday of our lives. So many things are judgment calls.

And you are right. God gave things like the Ten Commandments, but how are they to be applied if a person cannot “judge” another? There’s no way of confronting sin without having the ability to compare it with God’s righteous standard and declaring it to not meet that, and that is, by default, judging.

I dont hate any person for being “wrong.”

I despise them for being evil and relishing in it, and encouraging others to be evil. I hate wickedness that is encouraged and fostered and protected while declaring good to be evil and persecuting the good.

Don't know what kind of meditation he is practicing, but that statement doesn't sound right at all. The idea of meditation is to free the mind, quite the opposite of judging and labeling things.

“I am not a Roman Catholic but communion means something and there are rules about it. A given priest doesn’t get to just make stuff up as he goes along.”

What is the one unforgivable sin mentioned in the New Testament?

Matthew 12:31
And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

Rejection of the Holy Spirit is unforgivable as it is the Holy Spirit that helps us and cleanses our soul when we invite it into us. I invite it in several times per day as I am a real screw up!

The Holy Spirit comes along with communion. It is part of the Body of Christ. No priest should ever withhold it from anyone who desires to receive it.

I respect your opinion and understand why you hold to it. It just doesn’t fit my reality and interpretation of scriptures. I do not need to convince you. A hard heart from a disagreement would be more harmful than an error in understanding.

It is not Rebuildus making the Statement. It is Patrick Rooney. Rebuildus is just reposting Rooney’s words. Pretty sure Rooney has been doing this as a teacher for a long time. Just my 2 cents.

Did you ever consider that rebuildus is Patrick Rooney? (And that's why humblegunner is harassing him...) Check out rebuildus's article posting history: https://freerepublic.com/tag/by:rebuildus/index?tab=articles

I spent twenty years traveling and studying charismatic ministers of many different religions. I also studied and trained as a stage hypnotist to understand the process. I have never used this knowledge and never will. I don’t want a following... I have a hard enough time being responsible for me.

I provide the following information to help people understand the false spiritual process in order to protect themselves from future manipulation. To anyone who uses this knowledge to control others, you are accountable for your actions. It uses stage hypnosis induction techniques in a religious setting.

If a speaker is communicating to a group of any size, the following are the procedures to cause the attendees to surrender their individual authority to the speaker. I’ve observed this in a Christian setting where the attendees would swear on a Bible that they are “Born Again” and experiencing ecstasy. It has nothing to do with religion or spiritual growth. It is the “false process.” It is consciousness or mind manipulation.

Do not allow this commentary to cause anyone to think that all such processes are fake. The real process does exist and has many similarities with the false one. I share this to assist in learning discernment.

Preferably in an evening service or a weekend retreat where people are somewhat tired, the results are more profound.

1. Allow the volume of your voice to go up and down. Shout and then whisper. If attendees struggle to hear your words they will often lock onto your words more, excluding external influences.

2. Tell a sad story and then a very happy story or result. I’ve observed this where people give testimonials that are tear jerkers, followed by claiming how their life changed for the better after they found religion. This destabilizes a person’s emotional consciousness and causes a greater horizontal dependency and trust. (This is the reason for the trust falls commonly used in marital therapy to bring couples closer together.)

3. Induce guilt, fear or anger. Guilt is the very easy to induce in a religious setting.

4. Offer them a way to get rid of that fear, guilt or anger. At this point they feel relieved and stable because they are holding onto the speaker for stability. The feeling is temporary, but may last for a few days or weeks, especially if they attend weekly services with the same speaker where they reinforce the process. These people will swear on a Bible they are Born Again. It is a fake process.

I’ve skipped over many details purposely to keep this explanation simple to understand.

In hypnosis, the person surrenders externally to the hypnotist or leader. In a true Born Again Experience a person surrenders within themselves to God. Big Difference.

Calling meditation hypnosis, or the reverse, is a redefinition of words. Bunkum. Either you are a free agent, voluntarily using a practice to quiet your mind and sharpen your perception of reality, or you are a passive captive to a hypnotist. They are two different things.

Anyone who is taken in unawares by a hypnotist deserves our pity, on many levels. People who submit to emotional appeals to surrender their agency are allowing themselves to be duped and exploited.

There are even more that are politicians!

I doubt that, very highly. We are told to DISCERN but not judge. Jesus came not to judge, so what incredible arrogance you demonstrate by clinging to judgementalism when the Lord was so obvious in telling us not to.

Get lost, church lady.

I have MET people who refuse to hear the gospel due to judgemental spirits like yours. You will be held accountable for being a stumbling stone.

The rest of your self-justification is just as hollow.

Your last sentence is a nonsequitur in context.
