That is what I think every time I hear a person’s pronoun is they. MPDs suffer extreme abuse, including sexual, starting at a very young age, like 3 or 4. In order to live with the abuse, they create alter personalities, who may remember the abuse. It is obvious to me that “alter-genders” were created to survive their abuse.
I think you are correct about the “genuine” cases, but wonder if nowadays the current explosion of gender dysphoric children/teens does not stem from sexual trauma, but parental and social expectations (due to feminization and angry single or gay mothers, perverse media and social media, leftist claptrap that destroys anything “traditional”, etc.). Dysphoria reaps lots of drama and attention, making misfits feel cool and validated.

The increase in girls wanting to be boys is up 1500% in the last ten years. Almost all of them are “on the spectrum” for autism, have OCD and other disorders that can make it difficult to fit in. But instead of treating them for their problem the docs give them a hormone shot instead.
