Custom Calendar Maker that allows major TEXT entries for each day

Posted on 08/01/2021 12:26:57 PM PDT by Auslander154

Could use some help please. I make a calendar every year for my dad that includes daily text entries to remind him of birthdays, but also has jokes and puns which he likes.

I have always used the iPhoto calendar template in the past, but Apple no longer supports making calendars from iPhoto. Last year the Apple template was available but I had to order the calendar from Mimeo by sending them a PDF of my iPhoto calendar..

Mimeo has a calendar template but it limits text entries to maybe 20 words per date. I have searched all over but cannot find a company that allows for at least 50 words per date. The next best option was Mixbook but that limits text entries too. Most customized calendar sites just want you to upload pictures and offer few text options.

I work on an iMac. I am looking for a website or an Apple app that allows me to make a quality 11x13 photo calendar with serious text editing capabilities such as size of text, font and color.

Last year I made the calendar on the Apple iPhoto template, made a PDF copy and sent it to Mimeo to print. Worked like a charm. I wish Mimeo had that Apple template that allowed me to just click on a date and type in the text.

I could highlight each word and change its color and size or make it bold or italic. I could enlarge the date box to make it easy to type and read. I could type 50 to 70 words in each date box in small font - size 6 or 7. I could even add photos to each date if I wanted. That would be ideal, but hours of searching for such a customized calendar company, app, or site have been fruitless.

I would appreciate any suggestions from any DIY calendar makers out there. The only thing I haven't tried is writing Apple and seeing if their template is still out in the Cloud somewhere.

I don't have Apple's Keynote. Is it possible to make a calendar from scratch there with the options I've mentioned? Or does it offer a calendar template?

Thank you again

Three may be a way to import images from your phone to your PC and from there into a commercial online printing service that does calendars.

Why not use the iCal app? If you had the photo app, you should have the calendar app on your computer. You can format the pages how you want and enter anything you want on it.

The wife uses ShutterFly. I didn’t see that excluded in your comment above. She does a couple of different ones for Christmas presents (based on which family she’s designing it for). They’re picture heavy...the opposing side of the calendar month page is all pictures. She adds birthdays, holidays, etc in the blocks for each day. Not sure what the character limit is. I know very little about the process..but the calendars are great. I also don’t know the price.

Try using real computer, not an iPhone. Calendar apps are aplenty.

I work on an iMac.

They are using an iMac which is a computer.

That said, Microsoft office has a calender template you do whatever you want to make custom calendars.

I had a couple comments about my iPhone.
I have an iPhone but am not using that to make a calendar or even importing pictures from it. Maybe you and others mis-read my use of iPhoto as iPhone.

I am using a real computer unless you don’t think the iMac is a real computer.

Your wife’s images probably are totally innocent, but she might want to check into other options.

“Microsoft office has a calender template you do whatever you want to make custom calendars.”

I use that sometimes. The calendar templates in WordPerfect are much better — at least they were in the older versions which I still use.

There used to be an excellent photo calendar function in an old program “PictureIt!”. I don’t know if it’s still around.

She’s out of town right now, but I’ll forward this and see what she says.

Funny calender, BTW.
