I like both versions ...I remember Molly Hatchets most because I am 56, and it came out during my teen years. But I appreciate the Allman version because of the soulful feeling, and I hadn’t heard it until about 10 years ago. ABB was a phenominal group, and I have been listening to the AllmanBetts band-made up of Dickey’s son Duane, Greg’s son Devon, and Berry’s son Jr. and they have a pretty good sound. Also Tedeschi Trucks band, featuring Butch Truck’s (original ABB drummer) son Derek and his wife.
A band I was in opened for Molly Hatchet about 15 years ago in Florida. They seemed appreciative of our set. Still like to YouTube a lot of this stuff.
