Due to the pushback by parents, students, and some teachers to the recent over the top outbreak of wokeness by school boards around the county, school board meetings have become quite heated in you can see in the compilation of some of the top confrontations.

If you are sending your kids to a public school or a private school where you aren’t reviewing every single thing they are teaching, you are going to get back a little commie child.

Yes. It’s worth noting that teachers have little to no say in what’s being taught these days. It all comes down from above.
That wasn’t always the case. When I first started teaching (I’m a retired urban school teacher) we are given some freedom. So we could teach what worked, and what was best for the kids.
That’s all gone now. The curriculum is set by outside “experts” who are a hellish combination of ignorant + racist + arrogant. And no deviation from that curriculum will be tolerated!
It’s a tough time to be a teacher these days. Yes, some teachers have swallowed this new nonsense. But many more are just trying to do what’s best under difficult conditions.
Oh, and one more thing. Please don’t think that the union bosses speak for the membership. They don’t. (How they stay in power anyway is for another thread.)
The dirty little secret is the board doesn't run the district. The superintendent does. And, once hired, he is hard to unload.
I’ve been watching a bunch of city hall and school board meetings on Youtube. There seems to be a correlation that the fancier the digs, the more the tyranny.
The first thing I would do is get rid of those “high and mighty” throne like rostrums (or whatever they are called) that put those punks up like gods on high with the comfy leather executive chairs.
They should have plastic folding tables and folding metal chairs. If possible put them down low where the audience looms over them.

I always wondered why WE THE TAXPAYER has to pay for all these luxury digs.
Exactly, I just the parents woke up decades ago when they began pushing environmental extremism and PC over the 3 R's.
That teacher stood her ground, however I would not be surprised if she gets fired.
The parents should get together and make sure she is hired by a private school. A gem like that should not be lost.
The lesson plans, even the lectures, are passed on from the ivory tower, and no “teacher” is allowed to deviate from the script. This is why Houston Independent School District will not accept retired engineers and scientists as teachers. The real world does not exist in K-12.
