One person was killed and another injured Sunday night after being struck by a car in the Uptown area of Minneapolis during a protest, near the site where Winston Smith was shot by sheriff’s deputies earlier this month.
A witness said the eastbound SUV was moving at a high rate of speed as it approached just before midnight, and that the driver appeared to accelerate as they got closer to demonstrators who had blocked off Lake Street near Girard Avenue.
The driver struck a vehicle parked across one of the traffic lanes on Lake Street, apparently positioned to protect the crowd. That second vehicle then hit people.
*potentially disturbing* Moments after the crash occurred and the driver is being choked out on the ground by ‘demonstrators’.

This appears to be the driver, who was detained by people at the scene. He seemed to be yelling “I’ll take my life.”

The driver was also taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for his own injuries. Police have not yet released the suspect’s identity or if he currently faces any charges.
The female victim’s identity will eventually be released by a medical examiner.
D.J. Hooker is an organizer with Twin Cities Coalition for Justice 4 Jamar and said people in the street had been playing volleyball and yard games when the crash happened later in the evening.
“A car came at us going like 70 or 80 miles an hour,” Hooker said in an interview. “There was one line of barriers and then a second barrier, and he sped up. He sped up. He went even faster as he approached us. You could hear it … start going even faster as he got close to us.”
Witnesses said the SUV hit the stationary vehicle hard enough to send it moving toward bystanders in the street.
“The car went through the air and it hit a young woman,” Hooker said.

Funny how a riot is now a protest. Maybe that speeding car was ‘protesting’ as well.
The demonstrators have no idea when a drunk, high, distracted, panicked, murderous or suicidal driver may plow through them. Get out of the street!
When you have an expectation that people illegally blocking a roadway (I don't expect they were issued a demonstration permit that allowed for blocking a roadway) will at best, pound on your car and damage or destroy it, or at worst, pull you from your car and kill you, only a completely ignorant or insane person who is not in possession of their mental faculties would stop.
I can’t make sense out of these videos. All I can say is the people in big cities caused these problems and they do not have clue as to how to solve them. They are digging to get out of a hole.

This is a common tactic of BLM, Antifa, and other leftists. They block a street so that an unsuspecting driver drives toward the crowd. If he slows down or stops, they attack him and claim that he was trying to injure people. If he doesn’t stop or tried to escape, they blame him for anyone he injures trying to get away from them. If possible, they beat him.

Or journalists. No wonder a lot of folks are confused being that it takes some skill to comprehend what’s being written and published. It appears that comprehension skills are lacking in a large segment of society.
Having grown up in the People’s Republic of Minnesotastan, I wouldn’t be anywhere near downtown Minneapolis. If you are not leaving the city and moving away from the liberal violence, you are a fool.
The police don’t care about the citizens anymore, the city doesn’t protect the people anymore. Expect the worst and you will be probably short of reality. I know of NO ONE that goes into downtown or Uptown anymore.
While I have found the ‘WAZE’ app to be a little unwieldy to use while driving, and the user interface of the app to be a little disorienting, the UI for the WAZE web site is EXCELLENT, and a great way to scout out traffic impediments prior to traveling.
