Posted on 05/14/2021 11:14:59 AM PDT by LuciusDomitiusAutelian
Boudicca (d. 61 CE) was the Celtic queen of the Iceni tribe of modern-day East Anglia, Britain, who led a revolt against Rome in 60/61 CE. The Iceni king, Prasutagus, an independent ally of Rome, divided his estate between his daughters and the Roman emperor Nero (r. 54-68 CE). When Prasutagus died, however, his lands were taken by Rome and the Iceni lost their status as allies.
When his wife, Boudicca, objected to this action she was flogged and her two daughters raped. She mounted a revolt against Rome which left the ancient Roman cities of Camulodunum, Londinium, and Verulamium in ruins and over 80,000 citizens of Roman Britain dead. She was defeated at the Battle of Watling Street by the Roman governor Gaius Suetonius Paulinus (l. 1st century CE) chiefly by his judicious choice of the battlefield and allowing her army to cut off its own escape route by encircling their rear with their wagons, animals, and families. Boudicca is said to have committed suicide by poisoning herself after her defeat.

Another fatal blunder due to fighting on the enemies terrain and time.

Just say no to Communist, Christophobic and atheist dating systems!
“To call a disorderly mob an army like calling a stack of building materials a house.” - some ancient guy
Boudica was a great leader but not any kind of general.
But its not her fault; her fighting forces were too numerous to command effectively.
Not to mentioned too undisciplined.
Agreed. It was a mob. Not an army.
The point to be taken from this story is never let the enemy set the battlefield.
lol. Right on!
That’s an unusual spelling
Which is why an Article V Convention of the States constitutes an end run, a flanking movement around our masters in DC.
That is an outright MISSPELLING. lol. May be intentional. May not be. Took a look at your profile. I too happen to be the descendant of Ulster-Scots (aka Scotch Irish). And I also happen to hail from Dixie. In fact, one of the most conservative southern states, and one the most conservative counties in the SE USA. Descendant of proud Confederate soldiers and dirt farmers as well as eligibility for Sons of the American Revolution. I also saw your little black book. lol. You won’t find me in there if you are fishing. I was on here from about 97 till about 2012. Left because the place had devolved into circular firing squad. Sadly, it appears to have gotten even worse. Like a bunch of monkeys with MG42s connected to an unlimited feed belt and a barrel that won’t melt destroying each other. And we wonder why the left gets away with what it does. Not sure how long i’ll stick around. The Q crowd is a cult and they have been chasing me up trees like a BlueTick coon hound. Had to fire a warning shot across one jokers bow to let them know I’m not intimidated physically or digitally. JimRob told me to layoff. I do respect JR so I did lay off. But I don’t suffer fools lightly especially at my age. So do you have any interest in Roman history? That is really why I came back. That and try to teach folks how to protect them from the cyber-stasi. Keep them from being Doxxed so they don’t lose their jobs. Keep their private data safe. And how the alphabet soup of agencies is the defacto government now. There are some pretty smart folks on here and there some extremely ignorant folks on here. But its hard to find anyone who gives a damn about the roots of western civilization or military history where I live much less the cesspool of FB or any other NSA collection platform.
Deo Vindice War Daddy!
Yes, you are thinking strategically. Now you just have to find some politicians that are patriots and have a spine which is tough when they vote for people like Mittens and the Murks and Cheney Jr.
Why bother talking to them?
I stopped after posting on one thread. Realized I was dealing with a cult not interested in reality. And they follow me around because I offended their idol. A false idol. Idolaters. Waiting to be saved by a psy-op. Well meaning and hearts in the right place but being lulled into complacency. I’m really getting sick of pointing out how c-int works. And they aren’t interested (most of them anyway) in very simple logic. Most of them will be sitting in their chairs looking at a monitor when the feds kick in their door and drag them off to a Gulag.
"Q" isn't the only thing people have a cult like belief system regarding. I find that a lot of otherwise intelligent people are perfectly willing to believe crazy unsupportable ideas on all sorts of subjects.
Global warming and transgenderism come to mind. :)
We are obviously of like mind. Glad to to meet you Diogenes Lamp. I do a lot of contracting work and one day I was in Dallas on a multi-city contract. I was at the Hilton in Dallas (the highrise with the ball on top). Went down to the lounge to get a burger and beer. The guy on my left worked for NOAA. He told me he worked for NOAA and was working to save the world from Globull Warming. I politely told him Anthropogenic Global Warming was a crock of $hit. And asked him which model over the last 30 years had proven out and if he knew what non-linear chaotic systems were...lol. I thought he was going to make a very bad mistake and attempt to assault me. I guess not budging and smiling when he stood up from his barstool as if though I wanted a fight was enough to make him take his beer and leave. And then to top it off, the news was playing on the tv behind the bar showing clips from during the current intifada in Israel. I told him I hope they push the Palis into the Med. He then told me he was Jewish and that I was a savage...lol. This country has gone full blown retard. No offensive to the mentally handicapped.
Sorry, I think it is the Hyatt, not the Hilton. I traveled so much in those days I once woke up in Buckhead, ATL, GA. Looked out the window at the highrises and saw no noticeable landmarks. (They have no neon ordinance in Buckhead) and literally had no idea where I was. I had to get the directory out to figure out where I was. Given, after some Irish wine and it was 4 am.
I always read it as “Christian Era”
And you as well. I've noticed you said you used to be here but felt you needed to leave, and I understand the sentiment. It gets a little crazy around here sometimes. I almost got kicked off for supporting Ted Cruz a little too long when the preference cascade moved to Trump.
As it turns out, I now think Trump is the only one who could have won.
This is a good example of what I mean. Otherwise intelligent people believing crap. Often it seems the smarter they are, the more likely they are to believe craptastic things.
And yes, I wouldn't complain if Israel pushed the Palestinians into the sea. How many chances do they get to not be d*cks?
Oh, and global warming is bullsh*t because of the negative feedback effect of water vapor. It swamps all other considerations.
