WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden has decided to leave American troops in Afghanistan beyond the May 1 deadline negotiated with the Taliban by the Trump administration, and has set the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks as the new goal, a U.S. official said Tuesday.
Biden has been hinting for weeks that he was going to let the deadline lapse, and as the days went by it became clear that an orderly withdrawal of the remaining 2,500 troops was difficult and unlikely. A U.S. official provided details on Biden’s decision on condition of anonymity, speaking ahead of the announcement.
Why Sept 11? Is that symbolic to indicate that we are retreating before Sept 11?
He won’t remove them by Sept 11 either. This is all a distraction away from the border disaster — as is the Putin invitation.

What isn’t symbolic is that Biden and his puppet-masters now officially OWN whatever the situation in Afghanistan becomes. And I am A-OK with that.

There have been US troops on the line and out in the danger zone in Afghanistan than in almost any other occupation zone in our history. Only Korea has persisted longer, that was another unfinished war that has been at an uneasy truce for longer than the lifetimes of most of the people in the world.
