This week it was announced that Colt Manufacturing, the world-famous American gun maker that helped popularize the revolver, is being acquired by the Czech-based Česká zbrojovka Group (CZG) in a deal worth about $220 million and 1.1 million shares of the Czech firm’s stock. It will allow CZG to expand its global customer base, but also increase its production capacity in the United States and Canada.

New ColtZ should be coming out soon.
Colt & Remington.
Staggering how badly a company must be run to go bankrupt in the most insanely high-demand market ever.
I don’t see CZG on the stock market symbols.
Not a publicly traded company.
CZ made fine 9/18
CZ could easily bring back all of the Colt snake wheel guns, and modernize Colt's R&D and manufacturing.
Colt focused so heavily on building M4s for the U.S. that they sorely neglected their commercial offerings. Now that they've lost the M4 contract, they've tried to get back into the commercial market, but so far have struggled with quality issues with their newly reintroduced Python.
Actually that might be good. If Joe Birdbrain and Spread Eagle start shutting down gun manufacturing in the US we can always buy a Colt from CZ.
What concerns me is how a handful of globalist leftist oligarch marxists and commies from Soros to Bloomberg, have an apparent gun control obsession and tons of money that could buy out the firearm self defense industry and control it as their own. I’m totally in favor of taxing this group and using it to improve USA infrastructure, military, and reducing their influence.
Our neighbors, who were motocross enthusiasts, had a CZ motorcyle back in the 60s. Apparently they are quite sought-after now.
Sad to Colt go out of business as an independent company, but CZ may well be the very best personal firearms manufacturer in the world. I have several of their hunting shotguns and a couple of their rifles. Been looking for a CZ-97BD pistol but they rarely show up in dealer cases. All are first rate shooters, great furniture, and reasonably priced. CZ-USA will take good care of Colt.
CZ makes a pretty quality gun in my opinion.
Not a publicly traded company.
I lied. Looks like they got listed under CZGZF today.
...the CZ-75 is matchless.....one of the finest handguns ever designed and made...I have a Turkish-made Armalite AR-24 which is a CZ-75 clone....a great gun, one of the finest triggers I have ever seen.....
CZ may very well be a fine company, but THIS SUCKS for anyone who wants or enjoys a fully independent American company/product.
I just don't get it. I read every year gun/ammo sales are surpassed from the previous year since Obambi's days. I've owned/operated 3 small businesses since Navy days and all were profitable, and retired at an early age.
I don't have a college degree nor any business background - just commonsense and learned to interpret a Balance Sheet and a P&L statement. "Staggering" is the correct word.
They’re not selling stock just yet though. I just tried.

Announced on Thursday, the Česká zbrojovka Group, or CZG, will acquire a 100-percent stake in the historic Colt’s Manufacturing Company as well as its Canadian subsidiary, the Colt Canada Corporation. CZG has agreed to a cash and stock deal that includes $220 million upfront and the issue of just over 1 million shares of newly issued common stock. The combined group will have annual projected revenues of over $500 million.
