Wonder if Marjorie Taylor Greene will be granted one?

“May issue” should be changed to “shall issue”. Only because Representative Boebert is a relatively high-profile applicant, was her request granted. To not grant the permit was to invite a heap of scorn upon the DC government, which is after all a creation of the US Congress.

It is a tightly stretched rope upon which the “civil” DC government has to walk. Their safety net could disappear quickly if they got a little too recalcitrant in their dealings with members of Congress.

I'll bet that NEVER happens, if it does, Pelosi will demand an "Urgent Bill" to deny it!

It is widely believed by (not all) gun enthusiasts that in most instances, concealed carry is preferable to open carry. Keeps the bad guys in the dark as to whether the people they encounter are armed and able to defend themselves.

"Do I mess with this lady, or could she be carrying a 9MM pistol that I can't see?"

Good news! EVERY Republican Member of Congress should have one, even if he/she doesn't intend to actually buy a firearm.

I agree. After all the threats Democrats have spewed at Republicans they should have a blanket authorization to protect themselves. Also after Democrat threats of re-education camps and threats of declaring republicans who voted for Trump as Domestic Terrorists their should be a wholesale issue of CCP to all Trump supporters after these threats.

It should not be news that a law abiding citizen was able to get a concealed carry permit

Open carry invites someone to sneak up behind you and bash you on the head. Then stealing your piece.
