Oil, natural gas and coal are the foundation of the American economy....i.e., energy at a reasonable price.
A table has four legs. If you take away one of those four legs....fossil fuels....the entire table topples over and comes crashing down.
Me: I’m going to row my boat 5 miles across this lake.
Government: That’s nice. You will get some good exercise.
Me: I know, I’ve been doing this for many, many years, and it’s worked out great.
Government: Bring a cell phone this time.
Me: Why?
Government: It’s all good. Don’t worry.
(I’ve rowed half way across, then cell phone rings)
Me: “Hello”
Government: “Hi, we just wanted to let you know that you don’t have to row that boat anymore. We’ve got a much better way for you to make that trip.”
Me: “This works fine. What’s the problem?”
Government: “We have a new, cool way for you to make the trip. It’s a fast boat that runs on Unicorn flatulence.”
Me: “Huh?”
Government: “Yeah, what we need you to ditch that row boat, and wait for your new ride.”
Me” “When is it coming?”
Government: “It’ll be along sometime”
Me: “When?”
Government: “We don’t really know, but you’ll be saving the planet.”
Me: “You mean I have to sink this boat and wait for you to get me the other half way across this lake?”
Government: “Yeah. You have a problem with that?”

Eliminating fossil fuels is he quickest way without a shooting suppression to destroy mobility and income in the population and render the great majority helpless and reliant of government for bare subsistence. COVID is in the meantime making it harder for groups and separating people from religion and family. These are all classic Communist tactics though Communists have historically progressed with guns and gulags from the beginning. That part will come a little later for America but it will all come. If DJT is successfully arrested after his “impeachment” show trial then the show trials will begin in earnest.

Well, Thanks. That’s like preaching to the Choir. And was evident on China Job Killer Joe’s first day. The only thing left out are the need to troops in DC and the inevitable insurrection that will follow.
Also problematic is what happens to the transmission system as more intermittent solar/ wind generation systems are brought online.
Sure you know transmission systems are dependent on large reliable conventional generation plants to regulate 60 hz throughout the system. It’s the heartbeat of the entire system. People will be surprised when the lights don’t work.
Yet GM is going all electric by 2035. Lol double plus good.
Hope people like no forced air heat/ cooling. This is the future for the serf class.
