Proud Boys leader ‘prolific’ snitch for law enforcement: Reuters

Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys extremist group, has a past as an informer for federal and local law enforcement, repeatedly working undercover for investigators after he was arrested in 2012, according to a former prosecutor and a transcript of a 2014 federal court proceeding obtained by Reuters.

Court records seen by Al Jazeera show Tarrio received a lighter sentence under Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 35(b)(2)(B). This rule says: “if the government believes that a sentenced defendant has provided substantial assistance in investigating or prosecuting another person, it may move the court to reduce the original sentence.”

In the Miami hearing, a federal prosecutor, a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent and Tarrio’s own lawyer described his undercover work and said he had helped authorities prosecute more than a dozen people in various cases involving drugs, gambling and human smuggling.

Tarrio, in an interview with Reuters on Tuesday, denied working undercover or cooperating in cases against others. “I don’t know any of this,” he said, when asked about the transcript. “I don’t recall any of this.”

Law-enforcement officials and the court transcript contradict Tarrio’s denial.

In a statement to Reuters, the former federal prosecutor in Tarrio’s case, Vanessa Singh Johannes, confirmed that “he cooperated with local and federal law enforcement, to aid in the prosecution of those running other, separate criminal enterprises, ranging from running marijuana grow houses in Miami to operating pharmaceutical fraud schemes”.

Tarrio, 36, is a high-profile figure who organises and leads the far-right Proud Boys in their confrontations with those they believe to be Antifa, short for “anti-fascists,” an amorphous leftist movement that often uses violence in confrontations with far-right protesters..................(excerpt, rest at link)

The facts only lead to this guy being an insider to around 2014. After that....no one says anything. It appears to avoid tougher sentencing....he dealt with snitch activities for several years, but in 2014, that ended (so the facts lead us to believe).

I’m thinking President Trump knew about him but maybe/maybe not his connection to Proud Boys...and even if he did...is there something that says the President should have revealed it. The media manipulates everything...so who knows.

Had to read to the last sentence to confirm this is typical propaganda. The PB guy must be over target somewhere:

But if he’s a snitch for the FBI, even going around and soliciting human trafficking for the FBI, then it’s not a hard stretch to think he joined the Proud Boys at their request.
