Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev said that he knows who planned the attack on the U.S. Capitol, and that the incident bodes ill for America's future.
"The storming of the Capitol was clearly designed in advance, and it is clear by whom," Gorbachev last week told an interviewer for Russian media. And, while he didn't identify the plotters, the renowned statesman said that he senses machinations at work.
"It will take a little time, and we will figure it out, why it was really done," Gorbachev said....

Gorbachev is not on our side. He’s just a jaded old failure enjoying a fantasy about the demise of his old adversary, the US.
The Russians already know. They’ve had access to our politicians through their spare laptops, which are not cyber-protected to military grade and military protocols. They are basically open doors to anybody with a military cyber team.

Gorby was under “house arrest” much in the way it appears Trump is while the Soviet hardliners attempted their coup in 1991.
Gorbachev wasn’t a bad guy. He was trying to dismantle communism without it collapsing the Soviet Union.

I’ve been thinking recently about Trump as Gorbachev.
Someone who took charge of a system as it was failing, couldn’t really change it, and got forced out just as it collapsed.
Had you asked me if he were alive or dead, my answer would have been a guess.
He isn’t credible yet because he hasn’t stated whodoneit.
