If I heard accurately, when the top pick in the NHL draft, from Quebec, was selected a few months ago, he (being a teenager) could not have visitors in his house to celebrate. Only his parents since they were under the same roof. If so, soak that up: Government telling people they cannot have visitors to their homes! Yes, we have variations of that for the recent holidays in the U.S. When do people fight?

Having said that, I would speculate that the scene you described was nothing more than a staged act for a TV audience. That teenager was surely out celebrating with his friends in his hometown even if they had to gather in a barn on the outskirts of town.
