I was an eagle scout and a scout master. I’ve never been to a Boy Scout camp out where five people lost their lives including a policeman.

It is very sad that anyone lost their life in Washington on Wednesday. The reports, however, seem to be deliberately misleading. I read that three of the people died of unrelated medical conditions. We have no idea if they were even near the Capitol building that day. Perhaps they went to Trump’s speech and then had a life ending health event. It interesting that there’s been no information on those other three except that they were not claimed to be related to the intrusion. It just sounds worse for us that there were five deaths.

There has also been no information about the person who hit the policeman with something, perhaps a fire extinguisher. Everything done in the Capitol must be on video. They must know who did it.

I feel so bad for President Trump and his family.

I'm thinking your Boy Scout days were different than mine. I was in the Scouts during the early 1970s and we had a mix of country kids, inner city kids and kids in between. About every other camp out a fight broke out- usually forgotten in a few days, but we did have one that sent three to the hospital (broken leg bone, broken bone in a hand, 15+ stitches and one very large tempered glass door that was destroyed). The funny thing was that the participants of the fights didn't seem to hold grudges.

Concerning the Capital Building. Remember that three of those that died were from medical issues that as far as I can tell did not happen inside the Capital building. One death was the Capital officer from a stroke (though probably triggered by stress of getting hit by the fire extinguisher (though I believe that Antifa is responsible for that)). The last death was caused by a police officer. Damages to the building itself was pretty small, and I think that was caused by Antifa as well. Hopefully we can get a detailed account of what happened, but in the current climate I am not holding my breath. Note that the officials have already stated that Antifa was not involved- despite a pile of evidence to the contrary (pictures and statements).

To call that a riot only diminishes the damage that occurred last summer and gives cover to those that want to silence us. Please note that no one on the left objected to the siege of the White House last summer and more than a few democrats made positive statements about the siege.
