Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) believes that there needs to be new leadership in the Democratic Party and has launched direct attacks at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.).
The progressive firebrand argued that Democrats failed to develop a succession plan for the “next generation” of lawmakers after Pelosi, Schumer and other leaders in the party step down.
“I do think that we need new leadership in the Democratic Party,” Ocasio-Cortez told The Intercept in an interview published Wednesday. “I think one of the things that I have struggled with—I think that a lot of people struggle with—is [that] the internal dynamics of the House has made it such that there’s very little option for succession.”
Pelosi, 80, is the only candidate for the House Speaker position, facing no challenges in re-election, but she’ll need to grapple 218 Democratic votes to secure her speaker title. Democrats are projected to win around 226 House seats, only allowing Pelosi to afford to lose just eight Democratic votes.

Just think, AOC and her ‘squad’ have passed their longevity test - they have been re-elected in their districts. This means they’re likely going to be around for the long haul.
The problem is their constituents. AOC and co. are just th visible symptoms.

Maybe we should give AOC a copy of the Constitution and ask what other clause she would strike out other than the one stating the members of the house shall “chuse” their Speaker. We know she wants to striked out everything related to the Elector College and to change the United States of America into the United People of America.
The US Congress has more important work to do. Little Allie seems to hate “imperialism”. The USA acquired Puerto Rico from Spain after the Spanish American War. Perhaps Congress should vote to give it back to Spain and declare all Puerto Ricans Spanish citizens and give them 6 months to get out of the USA including AOC.
Drooling crazy Cortez wants Pelosi’s job bad the squad has big plans for the democrat party infighting is in for the long haul.
That is what I had been expecting, that AOC was being ambitious for herself. Maybe it’s not so simple.
Perhaps she has certain Socialist/Proressive/Globalist/Democrat prospects in mind to promote.People who think as she does, but may look, sound and act quite differently than she.
The Trojan Horse is inside the gates, and almost ready to be fully opened up.
The Republicans should have figured a way to put her name in nomination, whip both parties for a win and let her be the face of the RAT party for the next two years.

AOC was born on October 13, 1989 so she just turned 31 a couple of months ago. Her running against UpChuck Screwmer would be a tough choice for people voting in the DemmonCrap primary in 2024.
