For all the accusations of anti-democratic tendencies that have been leveled at Trump, it’s the policies of his critics that would change the rules of American democracy to give their party a long-term (and perhaps permanent) electoral advantage. Were Biden to give in to the demands of his Democratic Party base, he would become in reality what Trump has only ever been in effigy: an American dictator. Publicly, he still has to campaign to win the Senate. Privately, he must be secretly hoping that his party doesn’t win.
Why would he fear this?
The progressives would push him to the left. If the Republicans win the Senate, they can keep them in check without Biden having to do anything.

It means taking responsibility for his actions. If the Senate can act as a counter balance, he can feign being much more to the left knowing the Senate won’t pass what he signs.
He can state all the leftie legislation he signed is the fault of the Senate for not passing it.
Again, why wouldn’t he go along? What’s Biden afraid of in that scenario?
I tnink you are missing a hugely important thing here.
I’m not sure what you see, that I’m missing. However, what I see, is that if Biden refuses to go along with progressives, they will blow up the party. That’s not a bad thing, but it does mean the end of the Democrats. I don’t think he wants that.
However, if he loses those races, then he can tell them that he keeps supporting their agenda,but the bad Republicans are being obstacles.
It won’t be the end of the Democrats, because they will still be elected. They will still have a party.
Republicans will be replaced, a Senate Majority of Democrats means there will be 4 more SCOTUS Justices appointed by Biden.

Biden could give a rat’s butt about being held back. Having unlimited power is his wet dream. Given what the libs would do to perpetuate their hold on power — pack SCOTUS, add states to gain senators, etc., — he sees no “backlash” significant enough to have a negative impact on their power grab. The libs will have an orgy of taking away our rights and changing America into a socialist sh1thole. The won’t lose a moments sleep over concern for how real Americans feel about their betrayal to the Constitution and our country. If we don’t win Ga senate seats...America is done.
This post reminds me of when John Roberts ruled in favor of Obamacare and some were on here in denial and tried to spin it positively.
