No,what they figured was that SCOTUS didn't have five judges that had both the decency *and* the courage to do the right thing.
We'll know in a couple of weeks whether they've figured correctly.

They figured Trump would be pressured to cave.. What they failed to take into consideration is that Trump is not your lifelong politician who is willing to play that game. They didn't make him, so they can't break him. He will dance with the one who brung him.

I think you have nailed this one. They thought pressure could cause him to concede. Trump thrives on pressure. Hell, Biden only left the basement to attend something at a Jeep dealership.
