Don’t know where you got that chart but is crap. In my system running 1/3 -1/2 and no there are not plenty of beds

Years ago, went to a wedding in Canada.
At the reception, they put me at a table with a bunch of Doctors.
The Doctors began “coaching” one young Doctor on how to book the services provided to his patients. Seems Doctors have discretion to record major versus minor procedures.
The young Doctor was leaving too much revenue on the table, and needed to record more of his work as a major service.
This is socialized medicine.
It’s the old time union mentality in reverse. Back in the day, senior union types would lean on the newbies and coerce the newbies to slow down to union speed
My wife just got a message from her friend - whose 63 yr old father tripped in a parking lot and broke his hip day before yesterday...
Apparently, he needs hip surgery so they’ve admitted him to the hospital. Last night, they gave him “the test”... Yepperoonie- positive for the dreaded Covid. (NO symptoms whatsoever)
Now, we all know that the hospitals get what - $30,000. per case?
I recommend that he demand $15,000. From the hospital plus NO charge for his surgery. Otherwise, hobble on out and have a REAL test done - then call the newspapers and explain how the hospital is double-dipping.
In Arizona, 89% of beds are used. 21% COVID + 68% non-COVID. ICUs are using 88% of total beds, with 26% COVID plus 62% other.
The good news? While cases have exploded, deaths are not. Deaths are on an upward trend after bottoming out 4 weeks ago, but the curve is vastly lower than the curve of cases. Presumably due to both younger patients and better treatment.
The bad news? The vast majority of Arizona has had a mask mandate since June. Masks didn’t work then and are not working now. The magic talisman failed. Maybe our Gov will require everyone to wear a cross now. Or a cross dipped in holy water.
Another bit of good news? The Trump Vaccine is on the way. Liberals will never thank Trump. But they should.
The vast majority of people I know, most of whom are 60+, have decided the virus is gonna virus. There are some precautions one can take, but only staying at home in isolation will significantly change things. And we’re not willing to do that.
That is a part of why cases are rising, along with the infections coming into the country at Douglas, Nogales and Yuma. Folks have stopped giving a damn. Look around the world. No matter what restrictions are put in place, cases and deaths are climbing. Joe Biden’s “Wear the damn mask!” is bullshit. The real solution is the Trump Vaccine. And fresh air. And exercise. Maybe vitamin D & Aspirin to help.
But shutting down everything won’t work. And neither will masks. Joe Biden is an idiot. So is Commie-la Harris.
i don’t disagree with anything you have said if you read my posts. My point is the surge cases and the stress on hospitals is real not a made up scam as some think
AMEN! They have pissed away any credibility they had.
On this we agree. I don’t think our local hospital is lying to get extra cash. I think the rise in cases is very real. And after a brief lag, deaths are going up - but happily at a lower rate of climb.
Most of my friends agree. SOME precaution is worthwhile. Washing hands. Limiting time spent in close proximity to strangers. Most of us are more cautious about vacations. Went to visit a church last week and they took NO precautions. Seems like tempting God to me! God expects me to pray and prayer is good, but he also gave me a mind. Pretending nothing is going on is dumb.
But no....the increase in cases & deaths are not just a scam. It is a real virus and there are limits to what we can do about a very contagious virus. Not as contagious as some Democrats pretend. There is a reason I didn’t wear a mask at the Trump rally I went to: We were outdoors. TONS of fresh air! That, and I seen no reason to believe masks do anything useful.
Yes. There is a virus and pretending otherwise is dumb. We don’t need to follow Joe Biden into the basement but we shouldn’t pretend this is all fake news.
Sitting alone in their cars with mask on / windows rolled up ... is why pop tarts have instructions!

What level of confidence would you assign to the propositions that:
- Hydroxychloriquine, taken with zinc and an antibiotic at the earliest stage possible in the progression of Covid, substantially reduces the impact of the disease in most cases, and
- Hydroxychloriquine, in a proper dosage for Covid, is about as safe as any medicine which requires a prescription (possibly including tonic water, which does not require a prescription).
I believe that Elon Musk had 4 antigen tests, and only one PCR done when he made that tweet several days ago.
I do not do outpatient medicine so I don’t have much of an opinion on early treatment with hydroxychloroquine. the studies i have seen are equivocal. safety in the short term is fine there are serious side effects to long term use that need to be monitored if someone wants to take it for longer than a couple of weeks
