Long-derided for its purported lax response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sweden continues to fall in global adjusted coronavirus death rankings, currently sitting more than twice as far from the top of the list as its summer peak.
The data website Worldometers lists Sweden as 15th among nations in population-adjusted deaths from coronavirus as of Saturday evening. That's down from a peak of 7th place over the summer.
Sweden's tumble in the global rankings has come about as other nations have continued to post steady and in some cases increasing death rates. The running seven-day average of COVID-19 deaths in Sweden has been around 1-2 since late August.
Countries that have overtaken Sweden, meanwhilesuch as Peru and Brazilhave continued to post steady numbers of high deaths. The U.S. has also overtaken Sweden since the summer, though both have still fallen in their respective rankings since then.
The Nordic country has received sustained criticism for its handling of the pandemic, with public health officials worldwide arguing that leaders there failed to take aggressive measures to keep the virus from spreading and killing Swedish citizens...

I'm proud of what Sweden has done, but Ikea still sucks. One of my projects for the weekend is to repair a chest bought from Ikea.
On the other hand, Sweden packed virus into nursing homes like New York did and got rid of the vulnerable early too.
I thought the death rate was lower because of their large lungs, or something...
Compare it to their neighbors not to far away countries.
Deaths per million:
Sweden: 585
Finland: 63
Norway: 51
Sweden,,,
I Love You!
Sweden has taken in five times the number of refugees over the last decade compared to these countries.
True. But that only bolsters the argument for Sweden's anti lockdown course of action.
what is shocking is EU countries are well aware of Sweden’s experience, yet they are locking down their economies AGAIN!
and the worst scum in the FakeNewsMSM continue to churn out stuff like -

It does not bolster any argument as the two actions were independent and Sweden may have gotten one of two right.
Oh yes it does bolster the argument for not locking down. Yes, the actions are independent, but the cumulative results of those actions, the total number of deaths, aren't.
The overall death rate becomes lower, when you remove the high number of deaths in nursing homes.
That bolsters the anti lockdown argument.
Those people haven’t died yet, at least not of COVID-19, in Norway, Finland or Denmark, just to look at closely related people and eliminate genetic variables. Those people got to live a little longer, be it months or a year or more.
Sweden blew it in the nursing homes, period. And their numbers will take years before they would have been dead anyway and will never recover on COVID-19.
And our Dem governors (+MA) murdered thousands to make Trump look bad.

Yes and yes again.
I don't disagree with that.

I don't disagree with that either, but IMO, there will be deaths related to a shutdown economy.
