couples living apart in the UK aren’t allowed to have sex — and are forbidden from meeting up anywhere but outside — under a strict new coronavirus measure.
The law orders romantic partners who haven’t been shacking up or self-isolating to not touch each other, government officials told the Guardian on Friday.
“The purpose of the measures we’ve put in place is to break the chain of transmission between households, and the scientific advice is that there is greatest transmission of the virus indoors,” a spokesman for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the paper.
But some observers were hot and bothered by the sex ban.
“Couples cant have sex yet pubs are still open? The UK is making such a sh-t show of this pandemic,” one critic bashed on Twitter.
The rule applies to couples in so-called Tier 2 areas, where residents face a high risk of contracting the virus, the paper reported. It comes as major UK cities, including London and Essex, are set to become Tier 2 areas at midnight Friday.

I wold also like to know why cities and states are buying up hotels to use as holding tanks for covid. Some weird stuff going on in the US too. And why do people not get to vote on these dictatorial decisions?
It has, but the incubation period has been obvious for decades. It should have been “treated” far, far sooner. It’s difficult to say at this point whether it will be fatal or not.
