I agree with you. Rush is wrong. Going directly to a vote would give the dems ammo to say that is was not fair to push through the nomination vote. It would look bad prior to the election.
There are 22 Senators on the Judiciary committee. Give each Senator x amount of time to speak so that it is over in 3 days. Then the next day call for the vote in the full Senate.
Swear in the new Justice the following day.
The Dem Senators will make fools out of themselves beating up a woman on national tv. It is bad optics for the dems.
Trump should introduce her on Saturday like this:
"After having reviewed the 5 most qualified candidates I look forward to Nancy Pelosi's and Joe Biden's endorsement of their fellow Catholic, Amy Coney Barrett!"
Hold a hearing and give each senator two minutes to make their case and then vote.

Harris came across as a shrill witch in the Kavanaugh hearings. She will do so again. The more people see her, the less they are likely to vote for her.

This is a big win for Trump. The squishy middle of American politics contains voters that voted for Obama and then Trump. These are folks that twist in the wind. But they want to back a winner and this makes the win yuge and obvious for all to see.

Barrett was already put thru those hearings a short time ago for her Federal judgeship.
This would be duplication & time killing & expensive.
The hearings are needed because poor Linda is in a close race and needs to show her voters how really big her testicles really are. No other reason exists to have a hearing.
