That sounds like BS. I think they feared for the their balls after the “year of the woman” election. When you see that Breyer got more no votes, dude who is in fact the most moderate rat appointed in decades, that’s the only explanation. “Don’t want to vote against a Jewish woman who’s gonna win anyway, looks bad”.
Barrett has the two children who are black and the other front runner is Barbara Lagoa who is the daughter of Cuban refugees who fled Castro. That should counter the inevitable racism screed of the democrats. The other obvious guaranteed democratic plays are the screams of misogyny, sexual harassment, and rape. That's pretty much taken off the table too by both of them being women.
We'd all like to just have the most qualified person nominated but that's not realistic. This is an extremely political process and we all saw with Kavanaugh what will happen when you nominate someone based solely upon their qualifications. Having a Y chromosome and caucasian skin guarantees you're going to be targeted and slandered.
