THe Saint Gwladys information is Greek to me.

Damned. Those names look like Ghetto names, only centuries earlier. How could the parents call their children? They couldn’t pronounce their names.

Should have tried the old Chinese child-naming method - Hey You #1, hey You #2, etc.

You have to accept that an alphabet that originated in Phoenicia and came to Britain via the Romans is an imperfect way of expressing the sounds of the Welsh language. For more fun, go to Ireland and try to guess the pronunciation of Gaelic names rendered in the Latin alphabet.
