A lie to the FBI in Virginia is a crime committed in Virginia, not in DC and therefore you can be charged and tried in federal court in Va, which is not yet DC.

With the Clinesmith guilty plea or whatever, he stated that he changed the CIA’s assessment of Carter Page from asset to “Adversary” because he “Believed it to be true”.
Q. Based on what information?
Q. Did someone tell you that Page was a Russian Spy/operative?
Q. Who?
Q. The CIA clearly said that Page was an asset, where did you get the idea that he wasn’t?

Occam’s Razor would suggest to me that either Carter Page was the Spy, a CIA spy, in the Trump organization OR he was made to seem like a Russian spy by the FBI or CIA.
In either case, there was a malicious conspiracy to target Trump.
I can’t chalk this up to some silo’d bureaucratic ineptitude. This will be their defense.

I believe it doesn’t matter who said what President Trump will conduct his own trial during the first debate. He has been waiting 3.5 years to get his hands around someone’s neck and he will not pass this up. Biden will be cornered like a defenseless rat that he is.
