Ivermectin is a winner treating Covid-19 patients in the Dominican Republic

Physicians in the Dominican Republic are all recommending people keep social distance, use of facial masks and hand washing hygiene, stay-at-home and other measures suggested by the government following World Health Organization protocols. But what if you think you have caught the coronavirus? Local physicians have been using low costing hydroxychloroquine (plaquinol) and ivermectin. Tocilizumab (actemra) is a high cost pharmaceutical that is used for patients in serious conditions, also remdesivir, an antiviral.

After a first whirlwind learning curve in treating patients, there are now treatments that are showing high efficacy. The largest private hospital in Puerto Plata is betting on the low-costing ivermectin.

Dr. Johnny Tavarez of Centro Medico Bournigal says that 100% of all the patients treated at the clinic for Covid-19 with ivermectin have recovered. He says many have had quick recoveries. Dr. Tavarez is the neumologist at the clinic who has been applying the treatment and monitoring the patients. He was interviewed on the Esta Noche con Mariasela TV show on Channel 9.

What is known is that the owner of the clinic, Dr. Jose Natalio Redondo, early on decided to go ahead with the experimental drug based on positive results by Australian scientists. There were still no random controlled studies; the government was not recommending the drug, but that was what they had on hand to use.

Their patients nor the clinic had easy access to other treatments such as hydroxychloroquine, tocilizumab or remdesivir. Diagnostic tests were very scarce.

Yet, the local pharmacies did have stocks of ivermectin, which for years has been used to routinely eliminate parasites in humans and animals. So Centro Médico Bournigal placed their bets on that readily available drug to help save the people of Puerto Plata. Their bet was successful. They now have more than 100 cases treated with ivermectin well documented at the Puerto Plata clinic.

Dr. Tavarez urges people who suspect they have Covid-19 to get treated early on. He says many of those who have died did so waiting to get tested. This could mean waits of two, three weeks or even more in the Dominican Republic. By then the symptoms were pronounced, and it was many times too late for the known treatments to be effective.

Dr. Tavarez says a computerized tomography of the lung and blood test are being used at the clinic to diagnose the disease. He explained the results have proven to be more accurate than a PCR test. The Dominican government is not yet including persons diagnosed with tomography in the official coronavirus statistics bulletin.

Going forward, Dr. Tavarez says the ivermectin treatment is simple and not costly. People just need to show up at the emergency and have a physician monitor the development of the disease. The Centro Medico Bournigal is the largest private clinic on the north coast. It accepts most insurance plans. It is part of Grupo Rescue that also has the Centro Medico Punta Cana where La Altagracia patients are being treated with a similar protocol.

MORE FROM NEW YORK POST:

https://nypost.com/2020/08/09/is-there-a-cure-for-anti-trump-disease-devine/

(EXCERPT)

Australian gastroenterologist Thomas Borody has found ivermectin is a promising treatment for COVID-19 when combined in a “triple therapy” with zinc and the antibiotic doxycycline.

He calls it a “wonder drug” but said last week that the trick is “treating patients very early.”

Borody is famous for his triple therapy for the bacterial infection that causes peptic ulcers, Helicobacter pylori.

Clinical trials on his ivermectin triple therapy are about to start in California and are underway in 32 other countries.

But results using the drug off-label have been promising.

In Bangladesh, 400 patients with mild to moderate symptoms were treated and 98 percent cleared the virus within four to 14 days.

In the Dominican Republic, in 1,300 patients the average duration of infection fell from 21 days to 10 days.

And in sick patients at Broward County Medical Center in Florida, mortality fell by 48 percent.

The results have been so remarkable that the government of the most populous Indian state, Uttar Pradesh, last week approved the use of ivermectin for COVID-19 patients and as a prophylactic for front-line workers.

But Borody has not been able to find a drug company interested in paying for clinical trials for a cheap drug that won’t reap them profits.

So he has partnered with California researcher Dr. Sabine Hazan, founder of Ventura Clinical Trials, and they are funding the trials themselves, at around $3,500 per patient.

Hazan, who has conducted clinical trials for 22 years, said Sunday she is “hopeful this is going to be a game-changer for COVID-19.” But she is at pains to point out there is no “one-pill solution” for everyone.

If the trials go well, with expedited FDA approval, the ivermectin triple therapy could be on the market in blister packs before Christmas.

I am unaware that ivermectin is approved for human use. I knew a guy who used LA200. It would knock his colds and flus right out. It also knocked out his kidneys. He went rather quickly.

Strange though. I wonder if this means that those people who do experience more severe medical complications from covid do so not just because of ‘pre existing health conditions’ but also perhaps that, the virus, and a secondary opportunistic parasitic infection. Doesn’t seem so, as most of what I’ve ready really revolves around cytokine storms and a cycle of inflammation and tissue damage, but why would this particular therapy be so effective then?

ivermectin treatment is simple and not costly.

Now watch Little Dr F mount a campaign against it.

Used quite a bit in humans, and animals (mainly horses), usually without complications. Surprised it killed him.

Parasite analthemic which I have been stuck with a hundred times. It paralyzes parasites in your body. They can’t feed or reproduce and die. The swine version at 5ml per 100lbs body weight subcutaneous is advised dose.

I’ve taken it without problems, as a weight-based one-time dose.

ivermectin can have some precautions, so be aware- I ran across them the other day- but can’t recall them now0- think it had something to do with if someone has kidney problems- also- the animal version is ‘reported to’; have made people ‘terribly ill’ (Although i suspect this is a liberal hit job on the drug- they claimed ‘missionaries administered to tribes the drug, and they became ‘terribly ill’ but they never mentioned what they suffered- only that they later in article said the drug ‘could cause diarrhea and stomach issues’- again, they never mentiooned what the ‘terrible’ side effects were- so i suspect it was a slam job on the drug- because the drug is very cheap-

There is a human form of it- and it’s touted as a ‘miracle drug’ for human parasites/worms- it’s been used for al ong time and has saved many lives- apparnetly- they really praise it0- but that is the human approved form of it- not the animal form-

RE: also- the animal version is ‘reported to’; have made people ‘terribly ill’ (

Nobody is asking people to take the animal version. We have a human version and that is the one people with Covid-19 should be taking ( with doctor supervision of course ).

“Off label” use to treat cv-19?

Inpatient admission required?

Whatever the case, it’s a cure so it can’t be good

but you bring up a good point about kidneys- I beleive that was one of the side effects- with hte animal version- need more research on it to be sure- don’t have tiem right now- peopel with kidney problems should use caution or avoid till they find out for sure though- kidneys do not recover when they get damaged usually-

no i realize that- but a lot of folks looking to ‘
self dose’ will look to the animal version- and buy from amazon- it’s a thing- you can fin a lot of info of people doing that- and the missionaries in the amazon did do it- so- just telling folks to be cautious about running to the animal version- if they thought they could substitute it- until they research it further- it could possibly be dangerous- I just dont’ know at this point- not saying peopel will do that- just if they thought about it- to be carefukl-

it may be perfectly safe at the right doses- i don’t know- just want folks to be aware and do some research IF they were thinking about the animal version- I personally woudl try to get the human version via script- but a lot of docs won’t prescribe it probably off label- so those folks who try to get prescription might think about trying to get it from amazon- the animal version- that’s all- not saying this article was touting animal version- sorry- didn’t mean to imply it was-

meant to say

it ———(The animal version)-———— may be perfectly safe at the right doses- i just don’t know right now- I’ve read some articles suggesting it could cause harm- but need to verify if that is true or not-
