...Ive spoken to a number of employers who say that employees remain very worried about how safe it will be to return to work. After all, its one thing to be allowed by law to return to work. But its another to know that you wont be putting yourself or your family at risk.
My team asked if they have the option to file for indefinite leave, at least until authorities guarantee safety from the pandemic says Jared Ebrahimoff, Founder & COO of Lavari Jewelers. If that was not possible, most of them wanted the opportunity to work from home to safeguard their health against COVID-19... Robert Half asked the same group about what they expected from their employer once they return to work. The most popular responses were as follows:
More opportunities to work from home (79%) Better cleaning procedures (79%) Fewer in-person meetings (70%) Staggered work schedules (55%) Mandatory face masks (52%) An adapted office layout (46%)...

Leftist government slugs have not missed a paycheck.
I dont even own a mask. Sunshine is natures deterrent. The city slickers should take a walk around town.
Amen! Lots of people out of work now.
I think my daughter is younger than a millenial (she’s 22). She works at a Home Depot and is loving the increased pay and no limit on the overtime at double-pay. Weird too as she is a germaphobe!?
This fear is exactly what they intended. Stay at home and vote, stay at home and work(maybe) stay at home and we will pay you, stay at home and you can help us kill the economy and reset the system
I serve on the board of directors for one company that has managed to implement a “100% work-at-home” policy successfully. The key to their success is that each employee has a company computer that has IT tracking all the time the computer is on and is being used. I’d never want this type of arrangement myself, but for these employees they consider it a worthwhile trade-off.
1. In my state, the lawsuits over an employee just getting infected isn't a major concern. That's because lost wages (really the only financial loss that can be documented by the employee) under this scenario would typically be covered under a worker's compensation insurance claim -- and in my state any employee who files a WCI claim cannot sue the employer.
2. I believe the bigger concern is DEATHS among these employees, along with deaths and even just infections among people who aren't covered by WCI -- like customers and outside vendors.
3. All of this is why the GOP is insisting on employer protection against lawsuits as a condition of any massive stimulus aid to state and local governments.

The capability has always been there, and I guess many companies have been using it for a long time. Up until now it was always something lurking “behind the scenes.” This was the first case I have come across where the company adopted it as a formal part of their work operations and documented all the protocols for their employees to use. It really comes across like an industrial operation with employees clocking in to work on an assembly line.
“If they are scared to return to work replace them with people who are not scared. Youll probably end up with a better workforce.”
No doubt.
When employees do return, insist that the liberal employees wear face masks. Breathing in their own co2, and globules collected in their masks from other people’s goo and cooties, should help to cull the herd.
“Do you Skype them at random times and ask them questions when they dont respond right away?”
That’s far too lenient. (1) They must prove they have a dedicated work space/room at home — an actual “office” — a satellite of the main office space.
(2) The employer should be able to observe them under the same conditions they could in their regular office, i.e., every working minute. If a boss can walk through the office and observe cubicles, etc., and see what’s going on, he should be able to see what’s going on in his satellite office. That would require video technology.
Millennial slackers might re-think their pissy little demands if they knew they’d have to perform as if they were in their old offices.
“...Ive spoken to a number of employers who say that employees remain very worried about how safe it will be to return to work. “
Women.
“I’m not eager to return to the office. I have no desire to see my co-workers. I’ve lost a lot of respect for most of them.”
Ha, I’m IN the office, and have no desire to see my co-workers return. As I am “essential”, I am unimportant, and all the important people are “working” from home.
Test everyone returning; furlough those who test positive and are in a communicable state.
Imagine these people on D-Day.
One of the many signs that western civilization is crumbling before our eyes. Not that much time left as a viable entity. Something this minor in relative terms just about collapsed the entire society. The next little shove and it goes down.
take away their bonus welfare checks and they will see the world in a more realistic fashion
Trust me, the trial lawyers are are lining up. There are going to be millions of claims, lawsuits etc. Yes, they are trying to limit litigation, but even with some protections in place, it’s going to be the era of litigation and lawsuits mostly by employees, contractors but also the employers etc.
