Did you hear Rush's first 20 minutes today? Rush gave an update on his health and treatments. He was vague and cryptic and it sounded to me like he's setting us up for his eventual demise. But that's just my take on it. God Bless Rush and Catherine. I hope and pray that he pulls through but a stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis is almost always a death sentence. But I'm holding out hope that he does beat this. After all I had expected Alex Trebek to be gone by now after his stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Ive known several people in my life that passed quickly after such a diagnosis. Prayers for Rush and Catherine.
Last October my husband of 49 years was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer. He did six rounds of two chemo drugs simultaneously with radiation (35 treatments). He handled both very well. Finished treatment end of January and is now on an immunotherapy drug for a year. He is stable, no progression or spread outside of lung but no shrinkage either. It is a devastating disease. You live from scan to scan. I feel for Rush and his wife. There are a couple of 10 year+ LC survivors in our LC support group. One woman has a specific mutation for which there are targeted drugs. She had been kept alive by clinical trials for the past 13 years. Stage IV.
I'm praying that Rush will experience a 'miracle' like one of those...

Prayers for your husband and you. Glad he has handled treatment well. It is always encouraging to hear that there are survivors of this disease. Praying for new treatments on the horizon.
Max, what an awful thing for you to say to “fightin kentuckian” about “wishing” Rush to die.
After hearing what Rush said yesterday, it certainly was a grim outlook. But kentuckian in no way wished an expedited death to Rush; he was just telling us that the outlook did not look good, per Rush’s own words!. I have not been able to listen to Rush lately and thought everything was fine, but this latest news has we ramp up my prayers for him.

Thank you for your prayers. There are many clinical trials out there. Perhaps one of them will work for Rush.
I told Dr. John Kingsbury Frost, at Johns Hopkins University, that the miraculous discoveries that he had made will last to serve humanity as long as the printed world. He liked that.
The conquest of polio and smallpox, safe blood transfusion, the end to such plagues as cholera and typhoid fever, heart transplant! All miracles!
As a medical student and later a physician I prayed every day for an end to such horrors! Today I still pray, as I pray for Rush all all afflicted, and I also give thanks for the prayers already answered.
I also give thanks for President Trump and pray for his success in bringing all of America--and the world--back to the Side of the Angels. Note tagline.
Half of America has lost its way. Pray that the Love of God will bring them back miraculously to the Light of Truth.

That’s my interpretation and sticking with it. If you’re offended, I dont give a damn. It was better not to talk about it and let it be instead of talking about a person who is not well.
It was more “awful” talking about a condition of a person who obviously is not well, and stating that he does not have time to live AND GUESS when the “death “ date is coming. Maybe you should think about it before pointing your self-righteous, all mighty finger at me.
Thank you for your wonderful, hopeful posts! And thank you for your great service to humanity overall. I've had several 'afflictions' over my lifetime, and have had my life changed for the better thanks to many great doctors. I have a tremendous amount of respect for doctors and everyone in the medical fields.
