The Economic “Reopening” Is A Fake Out: It is not meant to last. It is a steam valve to calm public outrage and to condition us to periodic tyranny.

Government hand-outs are like heroin, and those that offer them are like drug pushers. Once you’re hooked, you pay, but it’s very hard to get the monkey off your back.

A bunch re-opened in my state last week to outdoor dining only, no indoor dining allowed. Several have installed massive “wedding” sized tents to provide shade and protection from the weather, which defeats the “no indoor dining” rule from the state if you ask me.

However, you have to wear a mask from the door to the table, I guess since has proven the virus won’t spread while eating only while walking to/from the table.

America seems docile because we don’t break easily, we are more rational and have a better foundation of law protecting us than, say, European nations. As the Declaration of Independence says, we will suffer a long train of abuses before we will take strong measures to resist them.

When we’ve had enough ... woe to those who oppose us.

We’ve become accustomed to routine school lockdowns. LEO routinely orders shelter in place for entire blocks due to a “stand off” or some other event. Now they can shut down entire countries. Sure seems like we have been conditioned to accept tyranny. It’s for our own good, right? /s

Whatever plan they intend to execute depends on fear. Fear is easy to create over the short run, but not over the long run.

Fear is very fleeting. If there is nothing occurring to warrant that fear, it will fade quickly, especially if people start thinking that they were had in the first place.

I think that the fact that we have also sorts of Democrat talking heads telling us about the virtue of the lockdown and wearing masks is a clear indication that we are being lied to by all the usual liars, and their purpose is, of course, to advance their agenda, because that’s literally all they do.

Oh, BS. No one here wear masks except when inside a store wanting them and even then plenty of people ignore that too and no one says anything.

Revolutions happen when people have nothing left to lose. We ducked a revolution during the Great Depression (although some would argue that FDR’s administration was a progressive revolution).

Revolutions rarely turn out they way they were intended. Our revolution against England is a notable exception. Most turn out to be more repressive than the government they replace. Our revolution turned out to be the exception because the people GAINED more freedom.

According to a new Imperial College study, about half of our states (24) have uncontrolled spread. So stay out of those states. There are going to be counties within a state where the spread isn’t controlled. Stay out of those counties. I’d say with few exceptions, most businesses can be run by staying in their own county. And I’d say with few exceptions, most people work and shop and recreate within their own county. So stay in your county. Support your local businesses. Be smart in the workplace. And if your county isn’t safe, you know the drill. Limit grocery trips, long lines, crowded conditions and just have a heightened awareness of your surroundings and who is surrounding you. There’s really not much else that a person can do, except make sure you top off your canned food and paper goods in case your county tips to the uncontrolled side.

I don’t buy into the doom and gloom that some articles paint. None of them seem to account for the intelligence and tenacity of Americans. In spite of the influx over the last several years of migrants from totalitarian, dictatorships or socialist backgrounds who are used to being cowered, there are plenty enough natives to provide counterbalance. The USA should come thru this just fine. The bigger problem will be how well our allies and trading partners come thru so that foreign trade as well as domestic business can return to pre-CCPVirus levels - with the huge exception of China

Most revolution are based on what they don’t want. Managing for what you don’t want takes you no where, just to another revolution.

Our Founding Fathers were amazing, A clear target of freedom and responsibility.

I don’t think so.

Blue states are moving faster toward re-opening now because Red states are blowing past them. Get enough “subjects” questioning the “kings” about why it’s safe for their neighboring state to be open and they’re not can lead to rebellion and make the kings look like the tyrants they are.

Plus the kings, who happen to also be idiots, are waking up to the fact that they need businesses and workers to pay state taxes.

Furthermore, too many people are waking up to the fact that this economic apocalypse didn’t have to happen. They’re seeing that they listened to the wrong people. And they won’t be locked down again for this virus.

Seems you’re like me. During these lockdowns I’ve often thought of the bizarre lockdowns and house-by-house searches following the Boston Marathon bombing. And I’ve never forgotten that the future Rolling Stone cover boy terrorist was found a few blocks away from the lockdown area by a sharp-eyed resident.
