ROUND 2 of the greatest hits of the '50s begins!

Due date: Sunday, May 10 @6:00 pm (Eastern)

This Round takes the top 6 songs of each year of the '50s per BILLBOARD, along with the best 4 #7s as voted in Round 1, and pairs them in play-off brackets.

Round 1: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3838848/posts

TOPICS: Arts/Photography; Chit/Chat; Miscellaneous; Music/Entertainment
KEYWORDS: 1950s; 50s; 50smusic; americana; billboard; culture; entertainment; fifties; music; nineteenfifties; nostalgia; popculture; popmusic; popularmusic; rock; rockroll; top40; top40music; vanity
Navigation: use the links below to view more comments.
first 1-2021-4041-6061-8081-97 next last
There will be 32 pairs from the '50s to compare, each one labeled with year and year-end chart position. 32 songs will emerge as the winners of this round. Any ties will have a run-off.

The vote is simply: which of each pair is better? No answer, no vote.

Please vote on as many pairs as possible - no onesies ("I don't like any others in this entire list"), please!

See pairs in my next reply post. My YouTube playlist is https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6Lnx_IGaigZqdKm6kRRVXQJGWmstw_4T

Thanks for including me, but I only know two of the songs. Catch you again during the 1960s contest. :-)

You can check out the play list!

Or if that is too many to learn, maybe you can come back in later rounds when there are fewer to compare!
