“I just dont like the subtext of criticism of the President.”
—
I don’t put anyone above criticism. Praise when they do something right, criticism when they don’t.
We don’t know all that he and his team are doing. Trump has pulled off a lot of victories from behind the scenes, while ostensibly frittering his time away at foolish fun on Twitter.
(What did our grandfathers do, in situations like this? From all the stories I’ve heard, my father rushed out with many other men after Pearl Harbor, and enlisted. I don’t remember any criticism of the leaders - if there was, most of those men kept it to themselves and carried on.)
No matter what Trump did or how he handled anything, there would be criticism from both sides - he’s had a target on his back from the moment he came down the escalator - perhaps most dangerously from people who were supposed to be on his ‘side’.
We’re in a situation now where we have to ‘dance with the one who brung us’; and we could do a lot worse. Imagine a doddering Bernie, Biden - or Hillary! - leading us at this time.
