My wife needs a knee replacement operation. We are stuck in a glitch between our NYC primary HMO that won't pay for an out of state knee replacement, Medicare and a hospital in Florida where we live in the winter, that since we do have health insurance won't even let us pay for the whole operation out of pocket. Crazy situation. We were just bumped off the schedule for Monday morning. We need prayers to get a new date and have someone apply some common sense to this situation. Need prayers to get out of this web. HELP Please!
We were waiting for a similar medical logjam which just broke yesterday. Prayers for you and your wife. It will happen in God’s time.
Can you go back to NY for the operation?
I saw that there’s a GOP plan (I’m not sure it’s a bill before the House, because the Dems have of course been too busy trying to kill Trump to deal with legislating) to address this situation, but you’re not alone in having this problem. I realize that this doesn’t help you now, but write to your congress critter and your Senator and describe the situation.
My wife, fifteen years ago, had 2 knee-replacement operations on the same knee... Same knee because two-weeks after the first one we were in a car accident that screwed up the knee just done...
My suggestion would be to go back to NY and get the operation and the LONGGGGGG rehab done and write off this winter in FL... A new knee is almost like a new life... Other issues are less important...
Go back to NY. It’s not like it’s not an option.
If you can pay for it yourself, get on a plane to Oklahoma and at the Oklahoma Surgery Center where a Complete Knee Replacement is $15.500 OUT THE DOOR All in, lowest infection and mistake rate in the country and they do NOT take any insurance.

For what it’s worth, we are having a mild winter up here in the NYC area. Was 46 today - felt like spring!
What’s your problem? Kevin has been around here a lot longer than you. If he feels he needs prayer to navigate the situation, who are you to judge?
